Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, PPC Controls, as part of Power System Integration Module in Applications, Controls & Electrical.
Our primary focus within PPC Controls is to bridge the requirements of Transmission Systems Operators (TSO) with the capabilities of our Hybrid Power Plant controller. This involves the development of sophisticated control algorithms to enhance the functionality of our Power Plant controller.
Our responsibilities extend to the design of Grid connection offerings in alignment with emerging market demands and the ancillary services market. The primary platform for implementing these solutions is the Vestas Power Plant Controller (PPC). Our team comprises 20 professionals, showcasing a rich diversity in skill sets, seniority levels, and ethnic backgrounds. As a global team, our engineers are based in Denmark and Portugal. We maintain a close collaboration with our counterparts in Chennai, India, as well as throughout our value chain. This collaborative approach ensures effective project delivery, reflecting our commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities
As a part of the team, your responsibilities will involve:
Design control algorithms for complex industrial applications and validate their performance Demonstrate proficiency with Linear Control Design tools such as Bode, Nyquist, Kalman, root locus Familiarity with basic concepts of Optimal Control, Model-Predictive Control, and System Identification Exhibit good knowledge of software design and implementation, coupled with a solid understanding of electrical grids and power systems Design and implement control functionalities for power plant control using model-based design with MATLAB/Simulink Conduct verification of plant-level electrical performance in simulation environments such as Simulink/PSCAD and in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test setups Assume a technical lead role in product development projects, applying V-model and agile project management principles
Qualifications
We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications:
A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering within disciplines such as Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields. A good understanding fundamentals of software platform, including expertise in data structures and algorithms Upto 3 years of professional experience in the development of control software Previous experience in developing integrated wind-to-hydrogen solutions, Power-to-X and Energy Management Systems (Beneficial) Exhibits coding proficiency, with the ability to quickly learn new languages, such as Matlab Simulink, C++, etc. Shows good debugging and troubleshooting skills, utilizing associated tools effectively Brings experience with the development of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) systems and test automation frameworks Displays a keen interest in system architecture, system integration, use cases, and user factors Knowledge about system engineering, including D-FMEA, requirement management, Quality Functional Deployment (QFD), and the ability to build functional flow diagrams and context diagrams (Preferred)
