The role
We are looking for a talented Javascript developer with experience in UI design to join us and support our sports broadcasting operations in a centralized role that would affect all of our territories across all of our rights. It is your opportunity to have a positive impact on not only how people work, but also on how millions of viewers see and enjoy the sports that they love. You would be joining the Look & Feel department within Viaplay Group Sport which is made up of a group of passionate professionals who pride themselves on delivering assets, systems and workflows that are then used to create over 50.000 hours of live sports TV every year.

As a developer focusing on Javascript you are primarily coding in Ross Dashboard. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth functioning of our front-end interface, Ross Dashboard system and the integration of data from our data provider to enhance our sports TV broadcasts. More specifically, this means:

  • Maintain and optimize the Ross Dashboard system to ensure real-time data delivery which will be used throughout our Sports Broadcasts.
  • Collaborate with the broadcast operations team to integrate data feeds running through Ross Dashboard for playout in Ross xPression.
  • Develop and implement custom solutions using javascript/visual logic to enhance the functionality of the Ross Dashboard/xPression systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the Ross Dashboard/xPression system in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in Ross Dashboard technology and TV broadcast industry trends.

What we’re looking for
We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:

  • Basic knowledge of visual logic.
  • Strong proficiency in Javascript programming language,
  • Knowledge/expertise in Software Engineering.
  • Capable of integrating data feeds from third-party data provider into broadcast systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to prioritize workload and respond well under pressure.
  • Highly self-motivated and responsible.
  • Effective communication skills, with fluency in English
  • You consider problems as opportunities to finding solutions

It’s a bonus if you have:

  • Proficiency in Ross Expression for creating custom graphics and templates.
  • Working knowledge/experience with Ross Dashboard.
  • Prior experience in sports broadcasting or media industry.
  • Familiarity with other broadcast automation systems and technologies.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about sports in general.
  • A can-do attitude, sense of humor and the ability to work humbly with others.
