About this opportunity:
We are expanding the Radio & Spectrum standardization team in our Standards & Technology organization. At Standards & Technology we are part of Ericsson Business Unit Networks to ensure technology leadership in 5G and beyond Radio Access Networks (RAN) by actively driving standardization, regulation, new architectures, concepts and testbeds including SW- and HW research.
We are now looking for new members in our standardization team. This position is in the area of spectrum regulations and standardization. We are looking for a person that is eager to develop novel concepts and policies for unlocking new 5G and 6G spectrum on a global scale. You will collaborate in cross-organizational teams and have opportunities to learn and work with top industry researchers on the latest technologies, while contributing to Ericsson technology strategy and developing novel concepts, solutions and algorithms.
In this role, you will:
• Work in an international team of world-class standardization colleagues and researchers with different backgrounds and experiences in developing novel solutions and concepts for future mobile networks.
• Develop research strategies, actively participate in and drive standardization. More specifically develop and drive spectrum requirements for the 5G evolution towards 6G in e.g., ITU-R, FCC, CEPT ECC and 3GPP.
• In collaboration with colleagues, perform research, generate simulation results, and provide written contributions in the area of spectrum standards, regulations and coexistence.
• Evaluate internal and external standardization proposals, and coordinate our view with internal stakeholders from research, development and product teams.
• Represent Ericsson in ITU-R, CEPT and 3GPP meetings as needed, as well as in university collaborations and customer meetings.
• Manage and contribute to industry-related interactions and engagements within Ericsson including product lines, development units, customer units, and ecosystem partners.

To be successful in the role you have:
• PhD, MSc. degree or equivalent, in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related. Preferably with a specialization towards radio and physical layer aspects of wireless communication.
• Excellent knowledge of mobile networks and industry with strong background in radio communication and signal processing.
• Competence in co-existence and spectrum sharing concepts and evaluations, through simulations and theoretical analysis.
• Experience from standards and regulatory bodies and processes (e.g., FCC, ETSI, CEPT, ITU-R, WRC)
• Excellent analytical thinking with a high ability to understand and drive technical conceptual proposals and solutions.
• Excellent drive and ability to take decisions and corresponding action.
• Capability to lead a team or a regulatory group in a dynamic and consensus-based environment.
• Outstanding networking, collaboration, communication, and innovation skills with a strong interpersonal focus
• Comfortable with speaking in public, participating in discussions and technical debates.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel
