Product Owner/IT Project Lead for Silver Tray – European Rail Vacations


Background: 

Silver Tray is a small, but innovative and expanding company specializing in developing solutions for train vacation sales, primarily in Europe. 

We are driven by a vision to globally transform the travel industry by creating user-friendly and scalable IT platforms for both established and new players in the travel sector. 

Founded in 2018 by Jesper Rovsing Olsen and Peter Rasmussen, both with extensive experience and knowledge from the travel industry, Silver Tray has expanded its board and ownership structure to include investors with significant travel industry and start-up experience.


Current Status: 

Through www.silvertray.dk, the company has achieved significant sales in the Danish market. We have entered into an agreement to implement a white-label solution for a major tour operator in another European market, expected to launch in the summer of 2024. Additionally, Silver Tray is in contact with other potential customers interested in white-label solutions.


The Job - Product Owner/Technical Project Lead.

As part of our scale-up strategy, we are seeking an IT Leader responsible for the technical development and innovation of our digital platform. The role will be a key part of the management team and contribute to board meetings.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in developing similar IT platforms, with particular experience in complex system architectures and integration solutions. You will be responsible for both the technological strategy and the development of the IT platform, ensuring all components are efficient, secure, and scalable.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the next development phase of our travel software for a dedicated white-label solution.

  • Lead, coordinate, and develop the Silver Tray IT team, currently consisting of external developers and specialists.

  • Develop and maintain a robust, scalable system architecture, ensuring integration with external services and APIs.

  • Engage with IT departments/project groups of white-label customers to align and ensure compatibility between the platform and Silver Tray’s commercial needs.

  • Monitor and evaluate the technical performance, security, and stability of our systems, identifying and resolving any issues.

  • Work closely with the rest of the management team to define and achieve Silver Tray's objectives, strategy, and action plans.

  • Identify and lead the development of new features and improvements on our platforms.

  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices, applying them in our development process.


    Qualifications:

    • Several years of experience in a similar role, responsible for system design, development, and management.

    • Experience in developing complex IT platforms with integration of external services and APIs, preferably with experience in developing white-label solutions.

    • Strong technical skills in web development, system architecture, and software architecture.

    • Ability to recruit, lead, and motivate a technical team, including outsourced resources.

    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

    • A passion for technology and ambition to create innovative solutions.

    • Fully comfortable with the unique challenges of a successful scale-up company.
