Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?

You will be our main liaison for our Bioinformatics data operations, cloud computing and server processes. You will enable us to bring our Bioinformatics data operations to the next level and aid us to break silos both within our data but also with our collaborators. You will deal with data, code, apps and many fun collegues. You will have an opportunity to not only work closely with your Bioinformatics team mates but also with the many other functions that we work with on both the scientific and operational level.

Your future team

Bioinformatics is a part of Experimental Medicine, an exciting area straddling the line between Research and Clinical Development. You will join a team of 5 colleagues who take pride in the impact we have across the drug development value chain where we work to derive insights from our biological data and provide our innovative thinking to move projects forward. Each member of the team is an expert in their area but together we make real insights for our projects and collaborate across the R&D field. We work on a mix of project support, data analysis on the experimental results from our pipelines and develop our own projects spanning across the various areas. We are helpful, collaborative and make sure we enjoy our time interacting with others.

The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What you bring to the team

  • You have a Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or similar, and are comfortable with relevant bioinformatics data types that you wield with your comprehensive and effective coding skills (R and python are the team’s standard).
  • You have a solid grasp of fundamental biological concepts which allows you to contribute to innovative bioinformatics solutions
  • You have experience working with cloud based computing services, AWS being the main one, as well as are comfortable in handling processes in a Unix environment
  • You enjoy building pipelines, including in the cloud and, are familiar with pipelining solutions (such as nextflow) and containerized applications (docker)
  • You have great interest in data operations, appreciate the intricacies of system functionality and enjoy problem solving
  • You are a team player, happy to collaborate with other functions and harmonize within your own team
