Lillerød, Denmark Weibel Scientific AS Full time
Do you want to unfold your skills within mechanical engineering in a world leading technology driven company?

Then this is your chance to join Weibel in an exciting position as a mechanical engineer in our Antenna group. We can offer an exciting opportunity where you get to use your technical skills in an innovative environment where our goal is to push the performance of radars to the limit.

At Weibel you will join a family-owned company that develops and produces state of the art radar systems. We have a full scale inhouse production facility with a modern machine park, making it possible to explore new solutions in close collaboration with our production team without compromising quality. Our biggest asset is our talented employees and we believe that by creating an environment that foster open and curious discussions we can reach the best possible solutions.

Design and verification of the mechanical structures of the antenna arrays

Your main responsibility will be to design and verify the mechanical structures supporting the electronic antenna arrays. We work with simulation and prototyping – using our large in-house metal workshop and polymer 3D printer to reach our design goals.

Your primary tasks will be:

  • Finding and implementing solutions to match the required performance in new and existing antenna designs and concepts.
  • Executing evaluation and test campaigns for mechanical designs.
  • Maintaining and developing both our current and next-generation mechanical antenna platforms with focus on tolerances, robustness, producibility, weight and cost.
  • Production optimization for mechanical parts – finding the right production methods for the tasks and adapting designs.
  • Participate in assembly, test and evaluation of prototypes of designs as well as DFM reviews with our production team.
  • Support our production team and customers with updated documentation and analyses.

      About you

You have a degree in mechanical engineering and experience with development, production and qualification of complex systems. You have experience with mechanical modularization and design of milled and turned metal parts. Furthermore, you have knowledge of the challenges that comes with designing mechanical systems for harsh environments – from the arctic to the desert.

Since there is a lot of dependencies between the tasks in our team, we are looking for someone who enjoys working in close collaboration with their colleagues. You have the ability to seek out knowledge from your colleagues when task requires it while at the same time being able to work independently on other tasks.

    Furthermore, your professional CV includes:

    • 5+ years of experience from a similar role
    • Experience with CAD tools e.g. Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault
    • Experience with FEM, preferably in Ansys
    • Good communications skills in English

        About your new team

You will join our mechanic team of six highly competent and dedicated colleagues, who look forward to welcoming you. We are a part of Weibel’s Antenna group where you will get more than 30 new engineering colleagues, that work with everything from mechanics, power solutions, microwave technology to analog and digital hardware. We have created it in this way, because we whole-heartedly believe that bringing people with different competencies together early in the design process will generate the best solutions.
