We are looking for an experienced colleague with a proven track record within Project Management, to join our PMO in our R&D Department.

About the Project Management Office (PMO):

• The PMO runs the portfolio of projects within R&D
• The PMO adheres to project governance processes and improves best practice and way of working.
• The PMO works in close collaboration within R&D and ensure cross company collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
• The PMO ensures project communication both on roadmap level, as status reporting and reporting to the Steering Committees.

This Project Manager position is organized within the PMO department. In the spring of 2024, the PMO department is defined by 5 project managers and 1 PMO manager.

The position is based in our R&D Department in Herning, Denmark.

Responsibilities and authority:
As our new Project Manager, you are expected to be:

• Running and executing various projects within the NEL Fueling R&D in adherence to the active project governance process: PDP, ECM etc.
• Leading and coordinating the tasks within the project. Establish deadlines and monitor the progress of the project tasks. Ensure resource alignment with the managers in the functional teams.
• Facilitating and using Kanban/Sprint process for task management.
• Monitoring and reporting on project status and progress to the Management Team, Project Management Committee, Steering Committee, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Define and report on the project budget status. Perform quarterly updates on the budget forecast and perform project cost follow-up (supported by a Finance Controller) and ensure deviations to project implementation are reported and approved.
• Ensuring Stakeholder management across the company: Research and Development (R&D), Product Management, Procurement and Production, Execution and commissioning, Service Department, Management, QHSE, and Warehouse.
• Ensuring formal documentation is released into our Document Management System (DMS).
• Approving the purchase of prototype components, materials, and other project-related external costs. - Performance evaluation of the project

Your working relations will be:

• Fueling Leadership Team (members of project steering committees)
• Managers in R&D (resource owners for project participants)
• System Engineers in R&D (Technical leads on product development)
• Project participants from various departments in Nel Fueling
• Finance Controllers (alignment of project budgets and forecasts)
• External suppliers and service providers for the projects

Preferred educational background and professional experience:
We expect that:

• You hold a relevant Bachelor or M.Sc. engineering education or similar technical background.
• Preferably you are a certified Project Manager (IPMA, PRINCE2, or comparable)
• You hold several years of project management experience working with technical projects within the industrial segment.
• Are experience with standardized product development processes (stage gate models)
• You understand budgets and resource planning in relation to projects.
• You have knowledge of and ability to follow relevant safety standards and rules related to working with hydrogen and test systems (part of your training will be internal courses)

You have a structural way of working and you can handle multiple tasks. Flexible as a person and able to navigate in a dynamic work environment. Apart from that you possess:

• Excellent communication skills.
• Motivation for making things happen and keeping stakeholders informed and updated on progress.
• Good analytical/reflective skills.
• An outgoing personality who knows how to maneuver in a technical organization on all levels.
• The ability to see the “big picture”.
• Interdisciplinary engineering knowledge.
• Fluent in English both verbally and in writing
