The position

The research and discovery work at Novo Nordisk is organized in multidisciplinary cross-functional project teams and as a Senior or Principal Scientist, you will represent the department across a range of projects where antibodies/antibody domains and other protein scaffolds are the preferred drug format. The working environment is dynamic and innovative and involves interactions with colleagues from research sites in Denmark, USA, UK and China, with an excellent opportunity to establish a strong global scientific network. The position is ideally suited for a proactive individual who thrives in generating results, discussing problems in a team-focused environment, and enjoys working independently.

Your responsibilities:

Proactively drive implementation and execution of primarily display-based technologies for antibody /protein domain repertoire generation Provide strong contributions to project teams as an expert within antibody/protein domain generation and design, presenting own work/data and participating in scientific discussions to ensure optimal progress of research projects Participate in project innovation, providing input for new internal project proposals, scouting efforts and evaluation of external in-licensing opportunities Actively engage in scientific global networks to build and maintain know-how within antibody and other protein scaffold drug format technologies Contribute with data and know-how to secure IPR and scientific articles when relevant

Qualifications

To excel in this role, we imagine you have:

A Ph.D. in biological science/biotechnology or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical research or similar industrial research settings. Alternatively, you may come with a Master’s combined with 9-12 years of relevant experience Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience with antibody/protein/peptide display technologies (phage and yeast) Strong expertise and interest in protein engineering and library design/building A solid understanding of antibody generation technologies in general, including immunization, sequencing and cloning, and primary screening for binding and binning is considered an advantage

About The Department

The Recombinant Drug Discovery department is mastering forefront technologies for early discovery and engineering of recombinant biologics and tool antibodies across the entire portfolio. The department currently counts 26 highly engaged scientists and technicians and is organized in two teams sharing office and lab space and dynamically working together across teams. The department belongs to the Recombinant Drug Research CVP area in Global Research Technologies and is situated outside Copenhagen in Måløv, Denmark.
