OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for an experienced Associate Portfolio Manager to spearhead the expansion of our gas asset portfolio buildout. This pivotal role calls for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in managing our physical gas portfolio, optimizing trading strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The individual stepping into this position will be instrumental in propelling the profitability and expansion of our gas trading operations.

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to mold the trajectory and triumph of our physical gas trading activities. This position requires strategic thinking with a deep understanding of the gas markets and the ability to navigate complex market dynamics. You will be at the forefront of managing our physical assets & contracts, optimizing our portfolio through innovative strategies, and driving our market presence forward. 

Collaboration is the cornerstone of our success; therefore, the ability to integrate seamlessly with our team uniting expertise across various assets, commodities, and trading specialties is essential for achieving our collective goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Build and develop our gas asset portfolio to be a central part of the profit generation within gas. This includes the management of storage and transportation, ensuring optimal utilization and maximization of the value within the portfolio. The successful candidate will develop and execute comprehensive trading strategies with a focus on physical gas products with embedded optionality.  Conducting thorough market research to uncover opportunities for arbitrage, asset optimization, and portfolio diversification. Fostering cross-functional collaboration with main stakeholders from other teams to ensure best trading decisions and risk management protocols. Keeping abreast of regulatory shifts, environmental policies, and market reforms to proactively adapt our physical gas portfolio. Lead the charge in enhancing portfolio management processes and systems, embracing cutting-edge technologies, automation, and trading platforms. Represent our organization at industry conferences, seminars and networking events to stay at the forefront of market trends and to establish strategic relationships  Prepare and present regular reports that detail portfolio performance, offer market insights, and outline strategic recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Possession of a Master's degree or professional certifications will be considered an advantage. A minimum of 5 years' experience in physical gas trading or portfolio management, with a proven track record of success. Expert knowledge of the energy market, trading principles, and risk management strategies. Outstanding analytical capabilities, negotiation acumen, and decision-making prowess. This includes statistics, such as time series analysis and regression. Proficiency in using advanced trading and risk management software. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as a strong team player. Experience with Python for data analysis and the ability to models and back test models is an advantage Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages will be viewed favourably.
