The Position and the Firm

Potter Clarkson, one of Europe’s largest and most accredited full-service intellectual property practices, is welcoming applications from highly qualified candidates with a graduate or post-graduate degree level qualification in Chemistry or a related discipline, to train and qualify as a patent attorney based in our Copenhagen office.

The role of a patent attorney is varied and at Potter Clarkson we work with a vast range of clients to secure patent protection, locally and globally, which involves regular client interaction, scoping inventions and determining how they can be best used to gain a strategic advantage.

The team in Copenhagen works closely with a number of the firm’s clients in the region, as well as international clients in the US. The focus of the growing team is to support companies developing new therapeutics, those manufacturing high value chemicals/materials and companies manufacturing food ingredients, often working directly with R&D scientists to help them understand the IP landscape.

Training and qualifying as a patent attorney requires hard work and dedication. To excel you need many talents, including a strong scientific understanding, excellent language skills and commercial acumen.

Working at the forefront of technology, patent attorneys work with clients to secure protection for technologies at the forefront of scientific innovation.
