København, Denmark Nordic Rcc AS Full time

Would you like to contribute to the green transition in Europe toward a fully carbon neutral, sustainable energy system and do you have a passion for software quality, and the ability to engage in dialogue with both developers and business specialists?

The energy sector in Europe is undergoing a dramatic transition towards the fully carbon neutral, sustainable energy system. The Nordic countries have set particularly stretching targets for the transition during this decade. Nordic RCC a/s is an important contributor to the green transition as the provider of regional power system planning data and security analysis to support the national transmission system operators. This is to ensure the efficient operation of the Nordic power system and high security of power supply at any time.

To support the test activities in the Nordic RCC, planning and executing relevant internal test phases, reporting defects found during the activities, among other responsibilities listed below, Nordic RCC is searching for a Test Manager who has experience in working with user requirements analysis, testing solution features, and GUI interface (UI/UX) testing.

Join a fast-developing Nordic office determined to make a significant impact in the energy sector to provide for a secure and efficient transition to the green, sustainable energy system.

Responsible for test management

Nordic RCC requires the task is resolved by a dedicated person, as the time for testing is limited and all tests must be carried out. Beyond the fulfillment of the task of Test Manager you must furthermore participate actively in the Nordic RCC team, where all parties support each other wherever this is needed.

Reporting to the QM Lead, your key responsibilities are:

Creating test strategies, test plans and test approaches. Create and tracking test KPI’s, weekly and end-of-sprint. Running daily standups, retrospectives and following the agile methodology. Creating and improving acceptance criteria in cooperation with both local & regional business experts. Be well-versed in software functional testing practices, providing test expertise in the development of test processes. Develop functional testing plans and performing end-to-end phases of test execution. Perform all types of technical tests (e.g., smoke test, system and integration, regression, etc.). Perform and assist in performing functional tests (e.g., user acceptance testing phases, trial, etc.). Define testcases based on requirements and features. Breakdown requirements and design specifications into tests steps. Document functional, regression, and acceptance testing procedures. Assist in non-functional testing (performance, security, etc.) when relevant. Liaise with regional test managers and business experts on reviewing test cases. Participate in the defect life cycle by ensuring tracking of the defects, providing comprehensive information for the investigation, perform re-testing and coordinate with the supplier when relevant for the conclusion. Documentation of different test results and preparing test deliverables. Be able to work and liaise daily with remote teams.

Proactive position with outstanding attention to detail and excellent communication skills

The ideal candidate is expected to have an education at BA or MA level in computer science or engineering, but experience from a similar role is more important.

Other preferred key skills are:

Experience with different methodologies (such as agile or waterfall). Experience with the test management tools – JIRA, DevOps, etc. Experience with, and understanding of, the processes of preparing a common grid model and capacity calculation in a Nordic context. Understanding of the energy sector in general (actors and processes). Experience with, and understanding of, the processes in which an RCC is engaged with the TSOs.

On the personal level you are communicative, responsible, structured and have a strong focus on finding a solution to a (potential) problem.

Employment conditions

You will join a team of competent, diverse, and enthusiastic colleagues. We are currently 22 nationalities with more than 30% women (striving to improve this balance) and all ages.

Your daily workplace will be in our office premises in Copenhagen Towers, Ørestad. We are offering workplace flexibility to ensure a healthy work-life balance including the possibility for working from home some of your worktime.

Our values of fellowship, curiosity, respect, and transparency have been defined by all employees. They identify how we behave and shape the way we work together, and we expect you to see yourself in them.

The job requires security clearance which will be facilitated by Nordic RCC.

Application deadline and contact information

Please apply online (in English) as soon as possible as we will be conducting interviews on a continuous basis and no later than 15th October 2024. If you have any questions, please contact Don O’Connor, Team Lead, Quality Management, doc@nordic-rcc.net.
