The position
As Data Governance Lead, you will represent the Global Data Office as the subject matter expert in data governance towards selected Business Area(s). Reporting to the Head of Data Governance, you will play a key role in rolling out data governance initiatives across Novo Nordisk and help lift our use of data to the next level.

The overall tasks will include the following:

  • Be part of building and driving the anchoring of global data governance across Novo Nordisk.
  • Analysing, defining and implementing business processes and new roles and responsibilities which are linked to data management activities
  • Partake in an ambitious journey where the aim is to leverage true business potential through better data quality and making data FAIR
  • Drive change management activities, direction and provide guidance across a large stakeholder landscape
  • Create and support collaboration across Senior Vice President areas, possibly even Executive Vice President areas
  • Be an integral part of bringing data governance to life across Novo Nordisk

With these tasks, you are to lift the following responsibilities:

  • Establish and govern enterprise-wide data governance across the Novo Nordisk line of business
  • Collect and help implement feedback to the implemented data governance models
  • Collect input and feedback regarding existing training material
  • Help maintain data governance training material
  • Support the Global Data Governance team in setting up global structures for data governance and implementation of the new roles across Novo Nordisk
  • Stakeholder mapping and communication
  • Collaborate and take part in activities with the Global Data Governance team – particularly to bring back learnings from across Novo Nordisk

Another thing to mention is that it’s a new role to be lifted in a new department, which also means it comes with the opportunity to help form it.

Qualifications
For this role, we would like you to hold a master's degree in a relevant field, and on top of that, you need to have a data management understanding. In addition, experience in designing and implementing data management across a large matrix organisation is highly beneficial.

Within these overall qualifications, we hope you can tick off most of the following:

  • Prior hands-on implementation experience with Data Governance – ideally as Data Governance Lead or similar role will be prioritized
  • Prior experience in Data Management and related technologies e.g., Master Data Management, Data Cataloging and Data Quality Management as well as data architecture frameworks e.g., Data Mesh
  • Prior experience analysing, defining and implementing business processes
  • Prior experience from Life Sciences/Pharma is an advantage
  • Prior experience with Industry 4.0, ALCOA+ and FAIR is an advantage
  • Set and drive the data governance agenda within one or more business areas

Global Data Office is one of the newest departments in Novo Nordisk. Created to support the ​​​​intelligent, creative use of vast amounts of connected data can generate new kinds of value, new levels of patient-centricity, and much faster reactions to changing circumstances and new know-how. Focusing on data value also enables us to use our hard-won know-how and resources to do a whole lot more, a whole lot more effectively – and to do it quicker and easier. That will mean all our jobs become easier, as well as more satisfying.

Global Data Office designs and builds the new mindsets, governance frameworks, data enablement procedures, and training programmes needed to implement these breakthrough opportunities throughout our organisation. We’re situated in Bagsværd, Denmark as a centralised function established to facilitate and support Novo Nordisk’s digital transformation across lines of business.
