Responsibilities

  • Review specifications of standard and divisional mechanical components and aid global design teams in selecting mechanical commodities for new designs
  • Conduct specification reviews with suppliers, gather DFM input, and translate them into valuable specifications
  • Support requests for information from contract manufacturers about Teradyne parts, components, and suppliers
  • Lead the qualification of new components through the Part Qualification process and First Article documents
  • Analyze the impact of component changes on Teradyne products and drive the process for obtaining new parts in urgent situations
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives by utilizing experience to analyze and optimize the cost of mechanical parts while ensuring quality and reliability
  • Travel as necessary for engineering projects and supplier visits

For success in this role, it is essential to possess advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes related to gears, motors, and electrical systems – making you the go-to expert others admire.

Having 5+ years of experience in precision motion control along with a background in Mechanical or Electro-mechanical Engineering would pique our interest.

We are also seeking individuals with:

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical technical data such as drawings, specifications, assemblies, and bill of materials
  • Familiarity with electromechanical integration and design best practices
  • Experience in supplier quality management
  • Proficiency in mechanical software like Solid Works and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Statistical Quality Controls and Lean Manufacturing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with expertise in Macros and Pivot Tables in Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

This role demands flexibility in terms of scheduling and travel. You should be willing to adjust working hours to meet deadlines and travel globally to visit suppliers. The role requires independent work, self-motivation, and the ability to carry out tasks with minimal supervision.

The position is based in Odense, Denmark.
