THE ROLE

The Chemistry Control Lead provides technical leadership and is responsible for driving the development of chemistry control technologies for use in the Seaborg Technologies Compact Molten Salt Reactor. This is achieved through planning, leading, and delegating R&D activities to increase organisational knowledge of relevant chemistry and engineering to increase the maturity of key technologies and support design decisions. As the Chemistry Control Lead you will be in a mission-critical role that is key to Seaborg's design and R&D efforts and interfaces across the entire organisation.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Continually develop and maintain the chemistry control technology maturation plan, taking into account current design status and needs
Lead and manage R&D activities being carried out internally and with external partners.
Interface with engineering teams to ensure the most effective design choices are made for chemistry management within the reactor.
Reporting on progress within the technical projects relating to chemistry control and keeping up to date with progress in interfacing systems.

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

You have a Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or similar education.
You have 2-4 years of experience working with molten salts in an R&D organisation, experience with fluoride salts is an advantage.
You can manage projects effectively, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, both within an organisation and with external partners.
You have a working knowledge of chemistry as it applies to molten salt reactors.
Experience with molten salt purification, electrochemistry and corrosion is an advantage.
Experience with radiochemistry is an advantage.
