Join BESTSELLER in the journey towards analytical maturity and excellence.
As a data engineer in the Data & Analytics department at BESTSELLER you will play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making across all our brands by designing, building, and optimizing modern data products. You will contribute to our data transformation journey, migrating from a legacy SQL-based warehouse to scalable, cloud-based data-mesh architecture using Snowflake, DBT, and Airflow.
YOUR TEAM
You will join our B2C Analytics Retail team, who is located across Aarhus and Amsterdam. We are a team dedicated to empowering retail teams across 20+ brands with cutting-edge data solutions. Our Data & Analytics department consists of 50+ colleagues passionate about driving the data agenda at BESTSELLER. We believe in empowering our people through ownership, which means taking initiative, collaborating openly, and making an impact from day one.
YOUR ROLE
You will play a significant role in maintaining and further developing our current solutions and in transforming our current data warehouse environment into a more future-proof data mesh setup. Our everyday work is made up of data analysis, data integration, and project-based tasks, all done in close collaboration with a diverse range of internal stakeholders.
Furthermore, your responsibilities will include:
- Taking part in the migration of our legacy SQL-based data warehouse and data products to a new platform on Snowflake using DBT and Airflow.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Designing and implementing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models to support business needs.
- Monitoring and optimizing data warehouse performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Developing and implementing data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and security.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and cloud computing to optimize and standardize our data engineering processes in accordance with best practices.
YOUR PROFILE
We expect that you are a team player, a natural leader and that you have great communication skills. You are encouraged to bring your unique perspective and skills to the team - as diversity drives better solutions. You have a structured and curious approach to your work. To succeed in the role, you can recognize and apply best practices, methodology, tools, and techniques.
We envision you will have:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with relevant experience in data engineering and architecture.
- Expertise in Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Azure Databricks.
- Expertise in SQL Server - including the ability to write stored procedures, views, and functions, with hands-on experience in data pipelines and CI/CD principles.
- Experience with Snowflake, DBT, and Docker, along with knowledge of Airflow or similar workflow management tools is a plus.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
YOUR BENEFITS
At BESTSELLER Data & Analytics, we are passionate about new technologies and offer you the freedom to innovate with real impact on our solutions. Our hybrid workplace allows for both office and remote work, giving you the flexibility to thrive. You'll be part of a collaborative team culture in a fast-paced company with quick decision-making processes. We prioritize continuous learning and development, offering opportunities to obtain various certifications.
WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU
If you have any questions about the position, feel free to contact the hiring manager, Anita Bech Borup, at +45 52 15 42 08. Otherwise, please send us your application and CV as soon as possible, no later than the 11th of April 2025.
