Are you looking for a flexible job where you get to work with some of Denmark's leading experts in environmental assessment? Can you see yourself working on some of Denmark's largest and most exciting projects? And are you an experienced Project Manager within environmental assessment? Then, shape a sustainable and livable world with us.

Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
As part of COWI, you will work to implement our strategy "Future Now", which means, among other things, opting out of projects with fossil fuels and working actively towards sustainability and a clear focus on green transition. We currently see many projects within renewable energy, Power to X, infrastructure related to green transition and urban development. We work with both land-based projects and marine projects.

To ensure high quality and great dialogue with our customers within the field of environmental assessments, we are looking for one or more Senior Project Managers to join our team. Our customers are primarily Danish and dialogue with them will therefore be in Danish. We are more than 100 colleagues working alongside our customers. Our team consists of environmental technicians, engineers, lawyers, land surveyors, etc. We are proud to have contributed to some of Denmark's most significant projects in our field.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Leading environmental assessment of local, municipal, regional and national plans, as well as projects within e.g., offshore wind, coastal protection, urban development and infrastructure.
  • Staffing projects and managing project economy.
  • Communicating with customers and authorities.
  • Coordinating input from a host of different specialists e.g., biologists, geographers, geologists, engineers, horticulturists, lawyers, GIS specialists, landscape managers, architects and economists.
  • Using your technical skills to provide expert input for environmental assessments, tenders, and projects.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you have:

  • Experience with all aspects of EIAs or EAs.
  • At least 10 years of documented experience with project management.
  • An educational background in biology, geography, environmental engineering, planning, landscape architecture or similar.
  • Experience from an engineering consultancy company is preferred.
  • Good coordination skills, and abilities in handling customers, authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • The drive to manage, inspire and develop colleagues, both young and experienced.
  • A diverse network in the EIA/EA community, and you are skilled at establishing new relations.
  • The ability to work independently on your own projects and participate and lead interdisciplinary project teams.
  • Spoken and written fluency in Danish and written proficiency in English is required.

What we also offer
At COWI, we have a clear focus on the individual employee, and there is great flexibility around planning your work life and workplace. It does not matter from where you carry out your tasks, you can plan your working days yourself, based on other responsibilities in life.
We want to make everyday life easier for our employees by offering a good canteen with the option of buying food to take home. In addition, coffee and fruit is available in kitchens around the office. We also offer massage, fitness centre and a lot of other great company agreements. We also have a staff association with many different sports teams, art exhibitions, tours and much more.

The work hours of this job is 37 hours per week; however, a lower weekly worktime can be arranged if desired.
