Trackunit is looking for a passionate Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Engineering team.

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will join our team of 200+ engineers where you'll be working alongside a core group of qualified colleagues who are curious and challenge assumptions and technical limits to find the best solutions. You will be an integral part in the continuous development of our hands-on products used by 10,000+ active users every day, and 1.25M+ IoT devices.

At Trackunit, we focus on continuous integration and deployment practices and you will be delving into different projects and always be on the lookout for new innovative ways to approach tasks using the latest tools and technologies. You will get the chance to work with one of the most advanced and efficient IoT devices on the market through close collaboration with customers and key stakeholders.

With locations in the hearts of Copenhagen, Aarhus, Kolding, and Aalborg, we offer you a flexible setup with the possibility to work from one of our locations or remotely from anywhere in Denmark. No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Who are you ideally?

  • You hold an engineering degree or a similar technical education.
  • You can clearly articulate complex problems and solutions.
  • You have experience in designing and implementing scalable and high-performance backend systems.
  • You have a genuine curiosity towards finding and solving the real problem.
  • You know how to develop REST APIs using Spring Boot in Java or similar.
  • You have a curiosity towards new technologies, programming languages, frameworks, etc.
  • You know how to use Git / GitHub for developing source code and CI/CD in a cloud environment.
  • You are ideally already familiar with several open-source technologies (Kafka, Flink, Cassandra, VictoriaMetrics, Kubernetes or similar).
  • You can effectively work in cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and lead technical discussions or projects.

Every day is different, but you can expect to:

  • Develop and update features to solve real-life customer problems, deploying several times a day.
  • Spark creativity in design sessions with your team and be open to new approaches to meet customer needs.
  • Work with product managers and engineers who are eager to get your take on issues.
  • Attempt to go new ways to solve technical problems and take ownership.
  • Improve and scale our platform as we continue to grow our business.
  • Set your mark on products and new launches - your projects are your responsibility.

Overview of the recruitment process:

  • Meet and greet - likely on a virtual video call. Here you will meet the hiring manager and another relevant colleague, and we're looking forward to it
  • Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment (we use Hogan) prior to the interview. In the interview, you will first of all get feedback, but the aim is just as well to have a dialogue about what you thrive in, what we offer etc.
  • Assignment specific interview. Based on the learnings from the process you will be given a case to prepare. You will present the case to the hiring manager and other relevant colleagues.
