A leading energy trading business is expanding its quantitative power trading capabilities and is looking for an experienced Quantitative Power Trader to join the team.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to have a genuine impact on the trading book, from identifying opportunities and developing strategies through to live execution and performance.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and trade quantitative strategies across European Intraday and Day Ahead power markets
  • Identify market inefficiencies and translate them into systematic trading opportunities
  • Research, backtest and optimise new strategies using large market datasets
  • Take strategies from research into production and monitor live performance
  • Work closely with traders, quants and developers to continuously improve the trading platform
  • Contribute directly to the growth of the European power trading book

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years experience in quantitative trading, quantitative research or systematic trading within European power
  • Strong understanding of European Intraday and/or Day Ahead power markets
  • Strong Python skills and experience working with large datasetsSolid understanding of statistical modelling, optimisation and backtesting
  • A strong quantitative, mathematical or technical background
  • Commercial mindset with a genuine interest in finding and exploiting market inefficiencies
  • Track record of developing strategies that have translated into live trading performance
