Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is looking for an experienced Associate to join the Flagship Fund Team in Tokyo.

The Flagship Fund (FF) Investment Team in Tokyo
Joining the Flagship Fund Investment Team in Tokyo, you will contribute to the development, structuring and execution of investments in greenfield renewable energy infrastructure projects in Japan, Taiwan and Korea where Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners see scale, growth, and liquidity.

You will work closely together with a highly experienced team in a high-paced dynamic and truly global environment.

The Position
Based in Tokyo, you will as part of the investment team be assigned to one or more specific investment opportunities being pursued by The Flagship Fund in Tokyo.

Responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Manage work-streams that form part of investment due diligence, project development & financing, investment approval and divestment processes
  • Support the structuring and negotiation of key transaction documentation
  • Development and management of financial models and review of economic and financial assumptions
  • Research in relation to counterparties, markets and assets
  • Working with and managing external advisors and partners, including legal, financial, and technical to execute investments
  • Development of analysis and high-quality presentations for internal decision makers and external stakeholders
  • Mentor analysts and secure the quality of their deliverables

The work is project driven and will involve all aspects of the infrastructure investment process including sourcing and acquisition, financing, and exits.

The successful candidate
The work environment at CIP is fast paced, stimulating, global and demanding. We are therefore looking for a self-driven, collaborative, and analytical professional holding a relevant master's degree within Economics, Finance, Business, or other related fields and 2-5 years of work experience in a similar position.

Key qualifications include:

  • Be a team player with the confidence to exercise judgement appropriately, engaging with colleagues at all levels of seniority
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills and very strong attention to detail
  • Solid corporate finance knowledge, particularly in terms of valuation and financial modelling, with exposure to project finance preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Japanese
  • Ability to work well under pressure and take on responsibility
  • Substantial experience with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with energy or infrastructure is an advantage
  • A self-starter attitude with tenacity, initiative and a willingness to commit to deliver the required results
