Wavetel ApS is actively seeking an experienced, high-caliber, and technical IMS / iSBC Core Expert (4G/5G) specializing in project coordination and migration to join our elite telecom engineering team in Copenhagen, Denmark on a 7-month+ onsite contract basis. In this critical voice core engineering role, you will support the existing project lead and technical experts with planning, coordination, and follow-up of migration activities between the customer, Nokia, the legacy operator organization, and other technical stakeholders. You will leverage your deep expertise in IMS, iSBC/eSBC, and SIP Trunking to ensure seamless voice core service migration. Detailed Job Description

As an IMS / iSBC Core Expert supporting 4G/5G voice core migration in Copenhagen via Wavetel ApS, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of migration planning, stakeholder coordination, and integration tracking. Your day-to-day responsibilities include supporting the planning and coordination of Nokia IMS/iSBC migration activities, coordinating the migration of SIP trunks, interconnects, and related voice services, and acting as the primary liaison between the customer, Nokia, the legacy operator organization, and other technical teams. You will identify dependencies, required integration steps, and open actions, follow up on implementation activities, technical issues, and blockers, and support migration testing, cutover, and post-migration validation. Furthermore, you will maintain meticulous migration plans and relevant technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning, scheduling, and end-to-end coordination of Nokia IMS and iSBC migration activities.
• Coordinate the complex migration of SIP Trunks, voice interconnects, and associated telecommunication services.
• Facilitate seamless communication and technical coordination between the customer, Nokia, the legacy operator organization, and technical teams.
• Identify project dependencies, required network integration steps, and open action items to prevent deployment blockers.
• Follow up rigorously on implementation activities, technical faults, and operational roadblocks during migration cutovers.
• Support comprehensive migration planning, dry-run testing, cutover execution, and post-migration verification.
• Maintain up-to-date migration plans, architecture diagrams, risk logs, and relevant technical documentation.
• Provide expert technical guidance on SIP-based interconnects and voice service integration to project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong, proven professional experience with IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) and 4G/5G Voice Core architectures.
• Good practical understanding of iSBC/eSBC (Interconnection Session Border Controllers) and SIP Trunking.
• Solid professional experience with telecom migration, network cutover, and system integration projects.
• Proven background in technical project coordination, project management, or technical service delivery.
• Deep understanding of SIP-based interconnect protocols and enterprise voice service integration.
• Strong stakeholder coordination, negotiation, and communication skills (Fluent English required; Scandinavian language skills are a plus).
• Mandatory EU passport and legal eligibility to work onsite in Copenhagen, Denmark for 7+ months.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Prior hands-on engineering experience working within a Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift containerized environment.
• Active professional vendor certifications from Nokia, Cisco, or Oracle (Acme Packet) for session border controllers and IMS core.
• Experience supporting tier-1 mobile network operators (MNOs) across Europe.
• Familiarity with agile project management methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence).

• Salary/Rate: Premium European Contract Package / 7+ Months Onsite
