Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark The HubDanske Bank Full time

It's an exciting time to join Tactile. We're a diverse team of storytellers, puzzle enthusiasts and casual mobile game creators. Our story began in 2008 in the heart of beautiful Copenhagen, and since then we have experienced continuous growth, establishing ourselves as one of the largest gaming companies in Denmark. In more recent years, we have been scaling fast, in big part thanks to the success of a little game called Lily's Garden. Now we're on a mission to solidify our position as one of the leaders in creating out-of-the-ordinary casual puzzle games.

With more than 300 talented individuals, we are a mix of over 40 nationalities and 43% women. We truly appreciate the richness of different experiences and perspectives that Tactilers bring to the game. This is why we foster a lean organisational culture, in which each individual is encouraged to take responsibility, be open and grow in their own way. We pride ourselves in cultivating a studio environment that stays away from crunch, that fosters your skills no matter what your discipline is, and one that gives you a place to be creative alongside other passionate and invested storytellers.

Your role & impact:

We are currently growing our Lily's Garden Gameboard team and are on the search for a Level Designer to join the team of talented designers and engineers supporting the production of new levels and mini games within our hit game Lily's Garden,

The impact that you'll have on the team's success is that you will be helping to create and prepare new match-3 levels for release (the team works in bi-weekly sprints), monitor their performance and ensure that we hit the right difficulties and level quality. In your day-to-day, you will be collaborating closely with other designers, gameplay programmers, QA testers and data analysts to keep improving the overall level design workflow.

This role can be either remote or based from our beautiful Copenhagen office. We offer full relocation support to those coming from outside of Denmark.

Okay, let's get a little bit more specific. Here's what you'll be doing on the day-to-day as our Level Designer:
  • Level creation, as well as testing and validating levels before release
  • Preparing levels for release and monitoring their performance
  • Pushing level changes live to make sure we hit the right difficulties and level quality
  • Reworking older levels and preparing levels for AB tests
  • Collaborating with data analytics to help improve level data dashboards
  • Keeping a close eye on the casual/match-3 mobile games market trends so that we can make sure our level progression stays up to date with the market
What we're looking for:
  • Solid experience of working on a live match-3 mobile game
  • Knowledge of game level balancing and pacing
  • Strong understanding of level design concepts and ideas
  • Experience with working in a data-driven level design environment
  • Great attention to detail
  • Understanding and love for sharing level design concepts and ideas, and working in an extremely collaborative work environment
You'll make us extra excited if you also have:
  • Experience with Unity (the engine we use to build our games)
What's in it for you?

Beautiful office space with probably the best view in Copenhagen
???? Pension and private health insurance
A chance to work with the latest tools and technology
Opportunities for individual growth with development talks as well as workshops, books and courses
Daily, healthy organic breakfast and lunch prepared by our professional chefs in-house
Social activities, including game nights, book club, Friday bar and more
Relocation package if you are coming from outside of Denmark
Free Danish lessons with our in-house Danish teacher

We review applications based on competencies and experience, so please do show off your design portfolio.

After we review your application, you can expect to go through the following steps:

Introductory chat with Izzy, our Head of Product, to make sure you are also aligned on the more technical aspects of the role. You will also cover all things Lily's Garden.
Level Design test assignment, to see your skills in action.
Team interview with Izzy and the Level Design team - Ecem, Ida, Asim and Ilayda, during which you will discuss your test solutions and the more cultural aspects of working on this team. We are pretty thorough with our hiring process. It is important to us that we choose new Tactilers carefully - just as it is vital to ensure that we are the right place for you.
We want to ensure you have a great candidate experience whilst in our recruitment process.
