As an AI developer and digital Product Owner, you will develop, coordinate and drive a backlog of AI initiatives to support engine lifecycle activities and internal processes improvement within engineering and R&D.

You'll play an important role in:

Management of AI project portfolio

  1. Gather insights on business challenges and digitalization opportunities where AI solutions can add value, whether in product development or administrative processes within R&D and Engineering organizations.
  2. Maintain and coordinate a prioritized product backlog of AI features, user stories and projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  3. Lead and develop pre-analysis, proof of concept and projects based on either AI off-the-shelf tools and/or custom solutions.
  4. Ensure high-quality standards for AI solutions by adopting the most suitable tools and frameworks, and implementing best practices such as robust testing, validation, and performance evaluation processes.
  5. Guide, mentor and lead junior developers and students through the AI development lifecycle, ensuring good collaboration and high-quality deliverables.
  6. Support the deployment of software and AI models in production environments, ensuring ongoing monitoring, optimization, and updates.
  7. Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and engine lifecycle team for AI initiatives.
  8. Establish synergies and capture lessons learned from other functions and group entities developing AI solutions.
  9. Ensure cross-functional collaboration and visibility of the AI initiatives across business.
  10. Leverage external AI Network to bring best of Industry practices into MAN ES.
  11. Engage with stakeholders regularly to gather feedback and insights.

We imagine that you have:

  1. A deep understanding and expertise in Generative AI technologies, deep learning, machine learning and software engineering best practices.
  2. Considerable experience with cloud services, and the integration of said technologies into scalable solutions.
  3. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
  4. A technical understanding of software development tech stack that includes Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, AWS, Azure, RESTful APIs, Git, Agile methodologies, and more in the realm of Generative AI.
  5. Experience with data analytics, NLP, and chatbot development proficiency in no/low code API integration and data connectors to enable communication between systems.
  6. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  7. A blend of strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills to drive product innovation and ensure alignment with business goals.
  8. Experience with agile methodologies and product management tools is preferred.
  9. Experience from a similar industry, Marine engines, marine industries or industrial process applications is nice to have.

You will join the Lifecycle Processes and Digital Applications department within the functional area Engine Lifecycle Management. We are a part of a unified Engineering Two-Stroke organisation with the clear ambition to reflect our role as the crankshaft of the MAN ES Engine lifecycle, responsible for the overall end-to-end processes covering the full engine lifecycle.

Alongside our colleagues within the functional area, we ensure production process validation and quality in the supply chain, and safe and compliant market introduction of marine products through an efficient approval process.

We collaborate with a wide range of departments within Engineering, R&D and our after-sales organization PrimeServ.
