Team and Role
As an AI Architect in Terma MDS, you will be developing AI solutions to be used in the civilian and defense industry. You will be a front runner in introducing and implementing the right technical solutions for Terma to deliver state-of-the-art AI solutions for our customers. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing robust AI infrastructure, tools, and platforms for supporting our AI solutions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions. Your expertise will help us leverage AI technologies effectively, ensuring our products are both powerful and user-friendly.

Furthermore, you will be involved in ensuring we choose the best tools to develop effectively and that our AI products are stable, reliable, and secure in mission-critical situations.

Over time, you will be involved in various challenges within the data science discipline, requiring you to not only be curious about AI technologies but also a quick learner and ready to adapt between different tasks.

You will take on the role as the go-to person for our team of data science developers, being the AI architect of our AI products and solutions in MDS. You will be a part of our MDS architect group as well as our team of data scientists. You will be responsible for ensuring a common understanding of the requirements and that solutions developed fulfill these requirements. You will drive excellence in AI across Terma, MDS products. You are an experienced AI Architect who will join our dynamic team of data scientists and lead the direction of developing AI solutions that secure Terma's position in a defense world of multi-domain operations (maritime, land, air, space, and cyberspace).

Key Responsibilities
As an AI Platform Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing scalable AI platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Architecting AI Platforms: Design and develop scalable AI platforms, including infrastructure, data pipelines, and integration frameworks.
• Leading Technical Strategy: Develop and maintain the technical roadmap for AI platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Collaborating with Teams: Work closely with data scientists, systems engineers, software engineers, and product managers to define business requirements and deliver integrated AI solutions.
• Optimizing Performance: Ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of AI platforms through continuous optimization and innovation.
• Evaluating Technologies: Stay current with AI technologies and industry trends, evaluating and integrating new tools and techniques as needed.
• Providing Technical Guidance: Mentor and guide engineering teams in best practices for AI development and deployment.

In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also take on secondary responsibilities to further support our AI initiatives:

• Data Analysis and Modeling: Conduct advanced data analysis, build predictive models, and extract actionable insights to support business initiatives.
• Project Leadership: Lead and manage data science projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Model Deployment: Implement, test, and maintain machine learning models in a production environment, ensuring they meet performance, stability, and scalability requirements.
• Data Engineering: Collaborate on data engineering efforts to build robust data pipelines and ensure data quality and accessibility.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong educational background, practical experience in AI and data science, and a passion for innovation. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Physics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience as an AI Architect or 5+ years of experience in data science with a proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions.
• Strong background in AI/ML infrastructure and experience with software development processes.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), AI/ML deployments, and programming languages (e.g., Python).
• Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools.
• Linux experience and familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker.
• Demonstrated ability to design complex AI systems and platforms, including experience with data architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to interpret complex data, identifying and addressing challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
