Billund, Denmark LEGO Gruppe Full time

Job Description

Are you passionate about Machine Safety? Do you have strong hands-on safety and compliance expertise, excellent communication skills, and a strong dedication to R&D machinery projects?

Then this is an extraordinary opportunity to join a team working cross-functionally with global EHS responsibility, focusing on employee safety through equipment and machinery safety and compliance

No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Core Responsibilities

As a Senior EHS Manager Specialist, you will ensure employees' safety and machinery compliance by fostering strong stakeholder relations and global collaborations across LEGO manufacturing sites. More specifically, you will:

  • Verify that new equipment and machinery meet requirements in relation to both internal standards and external legislation, Machinery Directive, CE marking, and associated standards, while supporting the creation of the necessary documentation. This responsibility involves actively participating in machine R&D projects.

  • Advise and guide the local machine safety teams at production sites to follow global processes as an active member of the global machine safety team.

  • Drive global collaboration by developing best practices for machine safety across LEGO production sites and ensuring they are globally aligned, understood, and implemented.

  • Practice the development of global processes, tools, and guidelines for machine safety.

  • Drive global training of everyone working with machine safety based on updated knowledge and external benchmarking.

  • Support local machine safety teams in ensuring local compliance with the EU User Directive, particularly regarding inspection of equipment and machinery, as well as training and competency development.

Play your part in our team succeeding

You will become part of the Global Health and Safety department, which serves as a center of excellence, supporting the organization in several specialist areas within health and safety. The department sets the direction and ambition for health and safety in the LEGO Group, driving globalization and standardization of best practices across the organization, all while striving for zero accidents.

In this role, you will join the Global Manufacturing Safety team, a group of 12 dedicated specialists ensuring that all equipment and machinery across LEGO Operations are compliant and safe to operate.

  • Upstream: We ensure that the design of all new machinery is safe and compliant before implementation in production.

  • Downstream: We define the directions for production sites on how existing machinery should be maintained according to standards and modified if legislation changes.

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience working with Machine Safety in a global production company. You have an educational background in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field, with a strong understanding of Machine Safety and Project Management. Additionally, you bring:

  • 2+ years of experience working on R&D projects for machinery, not necessarily as a project manager.

  • Experience working in a diverse organization with daily collaboration across different cultures and time zones.

  • Excellent collaborator and team player that puts the 'customer' needs first and understands that achieving team goals requires several compromises.

  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities due to daily communication upwards (steering committees, company leaders, etc.) and with teams across different levels of the organization to build strong relationships.

  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convert legal requirements into clear internal guidelines and requirements for colleagues and suppliers.

  • A result-oriented work approach with the ability to drive and track results, while continuously pushing for improvements and progress in both projects and team activities.

  • An innovative mindset, thinking outside the box to find alternative solutions and improvements.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50 days per year, depending on assigned projects.

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. However, please note we do amend or withdraw our jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to any advertised closing date. So, if you're interested in this role we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
