The position
As responsible medical specialist for an asset in Haemoglobinopathies, you will:

  1. Play a leading role in designing clinical trials, providing medical oversight in the trial conduct phase, interpreting and documenting trial results, and supporting submissions to health authorities.
  2. Have a key role as an author for publications of clinical trial data, as well as engaging in interaction with scientific experts and health authorities to achieve the best possible clinical development programs.
  3. Have a high degree of independence, and decisions taken have a high degree of business impact.
  4. Mentor and share knowledge with less-experienced colleagues.

The role requires a high degree of drive, organizational flair and collaboration with teams and colleagues across the Novo Nordisk organization globally. The job is internationally oriented and will require strong communication skills and interactions with colleagues in regional offices as well as external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, treating physicians, and therapeutic experts world-wide. You should have a flair for building and using both internal and external network(s) and share learnings actively within the project and department.

You should expect traveling activities of approximately 15-20 days per year.

Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  1. A Medical Doctor degree, preferably also PhD. Experience in hematology/pediatrics, /hemoglobinopathies is an advantage.
  2. At least 3 years of clinical drug development experience from the pharmaceutical industry. Capability of providing mentorship and training to junior colleagues.
  3. Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  4. Proficiency in English.

You are innovative when designing clinical trials, have a patient-centric mindset and the ability to proactively express a positive attitude despite challenges. You are curious and dedicated to analyzing and communicating data. You thrive in a complex environment and have the ability to stay focused, as well as flexible, given that several tasks will be coming from different stakeholders. Expectation management is a key aspect of this role.

About the Department
Medical & Science, Rare Blood Disorders is part of Medical & Science Rare Disease and Advanced Therapies in Clinical Drug Development and situated in Søborg, Copenhagen, Denmark. We are close to the patients and passionate about developing new treatments for rare diseases including blood disorders and we span over various technologies. In your role, you will be part of a team of highly qualified and motivated colleagues.

We are responsible for clinical development strategies and programmes of the Novo Nordisk portfolio including bridging the early ideas from research to the marketed products in life cycle management. Leveraging your clinical experience and expertise in drug development is pivotal for products to be developed and in the end reach the patients to serve their needs.
