Maersk is currently on a journey to decarbonize our operations and ensure we are consuming only renewable energy in the future. We are currently looking for the right candidate to help put and develop these plans into action, translating our decarbonization requirements into sourcing strategies and developing renewable energy solutions and partnerships for our different operational assets across the globe.

We Offer:

As a Global Category Manager Energy at Maersk, you will help achieve the company's scope 2 emission reduction goals through implementation of renewable energy solutions, developing agreements that will both support our ambitions and drive financial benefits for the company. You will focus on the locations critical to our decarbonization plans and help create solutions even where they might not be readily available today.

You will be responsible for developing sourcing processes and partnerships to help accelerate the transition. From identifying and assessing opportunities to negotiating contracts, you will play a key role in the entire process. You will be able to leverage Maersk's global presence, demand, and processes to secure solutions that will support this critical transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support/lead projects focused on solving our growing need for renewable energy solutions for our assets and facilities.
  • Act as a link between our decarbonization plans/requirements and sourcing strategies to deliver on the envisioned solutions.
  • Manage the internal wide stakeholder landscape to ensure complex, and often conflicting, goals are delivered.
  • Negotiate direct purchase of renewable solutions and work with developers and strategic partners to grow our ambitions.

Who we are looking for:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in procurement of energy including PPAs and REACs.
  • Experience in development of onsite renewable electricity generation solutions (PV, Wind, BESS, thermal etc.).
  • Experience with management of a diverse renewable energy portfolio structure.
  • Proven track record of negotiation skills with the capability to structure and negotiate complex agreements that will support our decarbonization and financial goals.
  • Demonstrated experience with onsite renewable generation assets and power purchase agreements.
  • Capability to run multiple projects simultaneously in different countries.
