About the Role
As a Presales Solution & Backend Architect specializing in fintech expense management solutions, you will play a pivotal role in both designing robust backend systems and engaging with bank partners to tailor solutions that meet their needs. This dual role combines technical expertise in backend architecture with strategic pre sales responsibilities, ensuring our solutions are both technically sound and aligned with client requirements.

As Presales Solution Architect & Backend Architect you will be responsible for:

• Backend Architecture:
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems for our expense management platform.
  • Ensure the architecture supports seamless integration with bank partners' systems and other third-party services.
  • Optimize backend processes and data handling to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Solution Architecture:
  • Work closely with sales and business development teams to understand client requirements and design tailored solutions.
  • Develop and present customized solution architectures that leverage both backend capabilities and our expense management platform.
• Client Engagement:
  • Lead technical discussions and presentations with bank partners and other stakeholders to demonstrate the value and capabilities of our backend solutions.
  • Address technical questions, concerns, and objections related to backend architecture and integration, providing clear and compelling responses.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in fintech, backend development, and expense management.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on best practices and technological advancements for both backend architecture and solution design.
• Collaboration and Support:
  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to ensure that client feedback and requirements are incorporated into backend development and solution designs.
  • Assist in the preparation of RFPs, RFIs, and other proposal documents, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with client needs.
• Proof of Concept and Demos:
  • Develop and deliver proof-of-concept (POC) demonstrations and pilot projects to showcase the feasibility and benefits of our backend solutions and overall platform.
  • Customize demos and presentations based on client requirements and feedback to ensure relevance and impact.
• Solution Documentation:
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of backend architectures, solution designs, and implementation plans.
  • Develop technical content for sales collateral, training materials, and knowledge base articles.
• Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at bank partners and other strategic clients.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance and support throughout the sales and implementation process.

What we will need from you:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend architecture and presales solutions within the fintech space, with a focus on expense management solutions or financial technology.

• Technical Skills:
• Backend Architecture: Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable backend systems using technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Git, Maven, Gradle, Micronaut, Ktor, Postgres, RabbitMQ, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Github Actions or similar.
• Integration Technologies: Experience with APIs, microservices, and data integration.
• Fintech Solutions: Familiarity with expense management platforms and related technologies.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the fintech landscape, expense management processes, and banking industry standards and regulations.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and devise effective solutions to client challenges.
• Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and build strong relationships with clients and partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar.
• Experience: Prior experience working with bank partners and developing backend solutions in partnership with financial institutions.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and blockchain as they relate to fintech and expense management.
