Job Description

To our tech hub in Prague, we are seeking an experienced Databricks Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundational experience in Databricks architecture and deployment patterns on AWS infrastructure. The candidate should also possess the ability to recommend and implement best practices for efficient solution development on top of Databricks platform in both data science and data engineering domains.

Responsibilities:

  1. Help drive Databricks platform architecture development
  2. Optimize and fine-tune Databricks architecture to ensure high performance and scalability.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand technology ecosystem specifics, understand the business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  4. Suggest and implement security measures and best practices to protect classified data processed and stored using Databricks.
  5. Guide the community members through the design, development, and deployment of Databricks-based solutions on AWS infrastructure.
  6. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on Databricks architecture and development practices.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Databricks and related technologies to continuously improve the solution landscape.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Databricks Architect/Engineer, with a strong understanding of Databricks architecture and deployment patterns on AWS infrastructure.
  3. Solid knowledge of data science and data engineering concepts and techniques.
  4. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or SQL.
  5. Experience with big data processing frameworks like Apache Spark.
  6. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  7. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  8. Ability to work independently and in a global, team-oriented environment.
  9. AWS certification(s) related to data engineering, data warehousing or data-lake is a plus.
  10. Databricks certification(s) is a plus.
