How you will make an impact
We are looking at dialing up our approach to flavour development within our Fermented category. Your main goal is to establish best practice flavour design in our NPD (New Product Development) process, as well as exploring innovative approaches to adding value and reducing complexity of our flavour and fruit prep portfolio. This position puts you in a unique position to have a major impact on the future success of the organization, think strategically and create direction at scale.
- Work closely with our Flavour and fruit prep suppliers, inspire the category (and wider Arla) on flavour trends, create flavour partnerships and maximize supplier expertise.
- Guide the flavour direction of our new subscription innovation model across our key markets.
- Be part of a new cross functional liquid mix strategy team, looking into adding value and optimizing our flavour and fruit prep assortment, exploring new opportunities to add value and reduce complexity.
- Working with the wider NPD as a flavour consultant on selected projects, leading or advising on flavour direction in line with trends, consumer insights, occasion of consumption.
- Working closely with Brand/Innovation Managers and colleagues within Fermented dairy to act as a strong and credible technical sparring partner in flavour direction.
- Lead the Fermented knowledge gap workstream on Flavour and Fruit Preps, establish best practice flavour briefs, flavour design.
- In collaboration with our Design and Connect team, establish best practice sensory evaluation methodologies across shelf life.
- Drive projects looking to enhance flavour delivery in combination with sugar reduction.
What will make you successful
If you hold a degree within Food Science and Technology, Dairy Technology or similar, have a solid understanding of Flavour design (Flavorist experience would be advantageous) with a minimum 5+ years of experience in a Flavour Development / FMCG (Fast moving consumer goods) environment. You have the exact credentials needed for this key Innovation position.
This means you can think outside of the box and have the leadership credentials to establish a new role, new WoW and guide the organization to develop product solutions to meet the changing market and consumer landscape. If you have been working within dairy applications as a flavorist or have experience with flavours & fruit prep for fermented products, it will absolutely give you a head start.
This role requires an Innovative mindset; strategic thinking, maximizing the Innovation eco-system, from collaboration with Innovation, Marketing, Supply Chain even start ups is important as well as being hands on when needed. You must be fluent in English (verbal and written) to navigate in an international environment.
Finally, you are good at communicating clearly, building personal relations both across organizational levels and externally. In addition, you are equipped with a sound business understanding and are skilled at driving initiatives from start to finish.
