Dive into a role where compliance meets innovation – join Lunar and help shape the future of banking with technology-driven solutions and a team that challenges the norm every day
Who we are
At Lunar we are democratizing the power of money and changing the way we all bank, pay, and invest. Since starting in Aarhus in 2015, we've grown rapidly and are now a major player in the Nordics, with offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Stockholm.
So, who are we? Are we a tech company or a bank? Well, we're both, breaking free from the usual categories. Tech isn't just a cool add-on here; it's the core of how we do things. With our own banking license, we go head-to-head with traditional banks. What sets us apart is the mix of tech and financial services, giving us the power to shake up a dusty industry ready for a change.
The opportunity
As we continue our journey to becoming the best everyday bank in the Nordics, we are looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be located in the Copenhagen office and be part of our Compliance team, reporting to Karen Molin Holste. You will join Karen and be responsible for our 2nd line compliance together. Around you, you will find team members from Risk and 1st line who you will daily drive projects to solve challenges and catch opportunities.
We're seeking a Compliance Specialist who thrives in a dynamic, tech-forward environment and is ready to challenge the status quo. You're a self-starter with initiative, able to recommend efficient solutions while respecting regulatory requirements. You bring a project manager's mindset to every assignment, balancing structure with adaptability. Strong communication skills are essential – you should be comfortable explaining, teaching, and collaborating with colleagues across the organization. Your investigative skills, combined with the ability to build trust, will help you navigate compliance matters effectively. We value individuals who are empowered to take charge of their risk areas and are passionate about utilizing their tech-savvy mindset to enhance our compliance and risk systems.
What will you do?
- Take charge of one or two compliance risk areas, working closely with our Compliance Management team to handle compliance findings in line with our strategy.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews and controls, ensuring things like managing processes and procedures related to complaints are up to date.
- Lead training sessions for your colleagues and management, covering topics within your assigned capability. This might include working with the DPO team on data retention practices.
- Assess product development initiatives and organizational changes within your area of responsibility.
- Get involved in strategy work for compliance, the 2nd LOD function, and help shape Lunar's business by improving our documentation standards and structures.
- Make sure compliance is visible across the organization by building an ambassador network within your area.
Curious about the Lunar culture?
Everything at Lunar centers around our core - to challenge. It's infused into our four values and guides us in how we work together, lead projects, and lead people to reach our mission. Our values aren't just words on a page - they're what make us who we are and shape the vibe of our culture. We see compliance as a professional discipline where work is performed with reference to regulatory requirements. We look for solutions within the framework while using our specific knowledge from regulatory work to safeguard our business and organization. For a longer read about our culture, click here.
If you like to get work done, like to recommend alternative solutions for efficiency, respect regulatory requirements, and like to be challenged and to challenge - then this could be for you
We can't wait to follow up with talents who we believe are the best fit based on the following criteria:
- A few years of experience in a function where details, data, policies, and procedures are of importance.
- A tech-savvy mindset.
- A keen interest in regulatory work and its application to business challenges.
