The team and the position
In 2022 CIP launched a new dedicated fund for Advanced Bioenergy opportunities "Advanced Bioenergy Fund (ABF)" with focus on investing in circular solutions that convert waste products into sustainable green gas and fuel.
You will join a highly motivated international group of best-in-class colleagues with exceptional experience in investments, in energy and infrastructure assets. The Investment Management team has a direct impact on the long-term success of CIP and works closely with other local and global teams within CIP including the Investment teams, Financial Analysis, and Finance.
Your role will be to take ownership of CIPs investments, post the Final Investment Decision. The main responsibility will be investment performance, mitigating risks, and contribute to optimization initiatives throughout the construction and operation phase.
You will be based in Copenhagen but should expect some travelling to project locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the overall Investments through the construction and operational phase
- Providing detailed analytics with a focus on the investments' value creation
- Driving initiatives to optimize operational, technical, and financial performance in the construction phase and in the operations phase of investments
- Negotiate agreements to obtain project finance debt on projects at various project stages
- Negotiate and manage contracts relating to construction, and operations of the assets (e.g., EPC, CMA, SHA, offtake agreements, and O&M contracts)
- Working with and managing internal and external advisors and partners, including legal, financial, and technical
- Be a sparring partner for the ABF Investment teams during the project development phase
- Ensure relationships with minority shareholders in our projects
- Development of analysis and high-quality presentations for internal decision makers and investors on the investments' performance
- Preparing material for decision making on senior management level
About you
The work environment at CIP is fast paced, stimulating, global and demanding. We are therefore looking for a self-driven, collaborative, and analytical professional holding a relevant master's degree within Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, or other related fields with work experience in a similar position in an international organization.
Key qualifications include:
- Be a team player with the confidence to exercise judgement appropriately and engaging with colleagues at all levels of seniority
- Excellent analytical and financial skills and very strong attention to detail
- Clear demonstration and track record on driving successful projects
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines and take on responsibility
- A self-starter attitude with tenacity, initiative and a willingness to commit to deliver the required results
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to turn complex issues into simple and understandable solutions
- Experience with energy and infrastructure is an advantage, but not a requirement
- Substantial experience with Excel and PowerPoint
