Ambitious Senior Financial Controller to join IFU – Investment Fund for Developing Countries

On behalf of our client, Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU), we are looking for their new Senior Financial Controller. In this role, you will refer to the Chief Accountant and work closely with him and the rest of the financial team, including one other Financial Controller.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accounting figures for quarterly investor reports as well as preparing annual accounts for selected companies. It is expected that you can assist with preparing interim and full-year accounts, including review and reconciliation of valuation reports for IFU's investments. The new candidate will also assist in the preparation of audit documentation for statutory audit and will be involved in the development and implementation of a new control environment in the accounting department – including designing and implementing new controls.

Your responsibilities will include the following tasks:

• Assistance in connection with the preparation of budgets.
• Controlling of annual accounts for portfolio companies.
• Setting up and implementing new procedures, e.g., on compliance.
• Controlling of periodical financial reporting from portfolio companies.
• Responsible for consolidation and preparation of financial reporting to EU on specific investment mandates.
• Management of cash calls and distributions for IFU's managed funds.
• Ongoing verification of information in IFU's ERP IT system, including controlling underlying documentation.

The ideal candidate comes with a relevant degree such as Cand.Merc.Aud, HDR, or similar, as well as roughly 4-6 years of experience from a similar position within a financial institution or a consultancy firm. Furthermore, knowledge of different financial instruments is a plus.

Furthermore, the ideal candidate should:

• Have a solid knowledge of IFRS and Danish Annual Accounting Act.
• Be self-motivated and driven, with the initiative to involve colleagues when necessary to achieve goals.
• Be able to anticipate potential issues and proactively develop solutions.
• Adapt well to dynamic environments, embracing evolving procedures, and thrive in developing solutions where established protocols are absent.
• Speak and write English on a professional level.
