Come join the new Vestas Global Blades Process Engineering organization. This organization is characterized as a co-located & process engineering team focused on developing and supporting the rest of the organization with subject matter experts (SMEs). An organization that embeds engineering know-how directly into the manufacturing value stream and enables faster decision-making and deeper process ownership and knowledge. It all builds on a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.

Responsibilities

As a Process Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in improving the manufacturing processes for wind turbine blades. If you do not have a deep knowledge within composite materials, you will have a high motivation to get it. You will have a clear focus on modern production process technologies, drive towards standardization via process optimization to ensure process stability and capability to improve overall business performance; Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC).
Your main responsibilities:

  • Design and optimizing production processes, within composite manufacturing operations and support process optimization in the manufacturing sites
  • Develop Process requirements and specifications and develop and support manufacturing sites Process Industrialization and standardization
  • Analysis of AS IS and future state
  • Create business cases
  • Use digital tools like data analytics to improve performance and make data-driven decisions
  • Investigating and solving production issues using structured methods such as the 5x Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA
  • Applying continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final product quality

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (Bachelor/Master) with a manufacturing/process engineering or other related subjects
  • Experience with composite materials is an advantage but not a requirement. We are particularly interested in candidates with solid manufacturing engineering foundations, a willingness to learn, and an engaged approach to solving complex challenges
  • Experience in applying specialist skills to perform a range of sometimes complex and non-routine work activities to improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques
  • Demonstrating effective application of knowledge in the organization
  • Experience from the automotive, aerospace, or other advanced manufacturing industries, particularly in environments focused on automation, quality excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and automation technologies, with a focus on improving product quality, process stability, and efficiency
  • Experience in applying methodical approach to issue definition and resolution. Six Sigma green or black belt is a plus

Competencies

  • Ability to develop the manufacturing processes, including equipment for quality control and in-process measurement systems
  • A practical approach and willingness to spend time in factory environments to understand challenges and drive sustainable solutions
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and structured problem-solving in production environments
  • Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes, including fiberglass, epoxy resins, coatings, and related production materials
  • Solid analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, using data to identify opportunities, validate solutions, and support decision-making
  • Proficiency in structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, FMEA, and other continuous improvement tools
