Since 2013, TechBBQ has supported and strengthened the Nordic ecosystem for entrepreneurship and innovation based on the distinctive values of openness, inclusion, trust, and meeting each other at eye level. TechBBQ has since grown in size and is now organizing Scandinavia's largest startup & tech summit.

Job description:

You will be working directly with the Head of PR & Communications. The candidate will dually be supporting the Program team to build the Speaker and Journalist activities and engagements for the TechBBQ Summit (and throughout the year), whilst ensuring that the logistical elements and VIP-experiences for the main event are secured. The candidate will also be assisting to draft compelling narratives about the Danish & Nordic startup ecosystem to propel stories all year about TechBBQ and the work that we do.

Preferred experiences and key skills:

  • Minimum two years of background in Journalism, PR or a similar role.

  • Experience in drafting impactful press releases.

  • Experience in pitching to the media.

  • Good storyteller.

  • Experience in research and media monitoring.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Self-motivated, proactive and results-oriented.

  • Great communication and networking skills (both online and in-person).

  • Ability to juggle between different tasks and departments effectively whilst connecting the dots between the two.

  • Can work well under pressure and has a calm, cool and likable demeanor.

  • A plus if you have experience in events and a structured approach of working.

  • Fluency in Danish and English is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

  • Pitch and position TechBBQ to local and international media, and secure stories.

  • Assist in speaker/journalist outreach and online calls with stakeholders.

  • Engage local, national and international tech-journalists and speakers for our upcoming TechBBQ summit in 2025.

  • Logistics & coordination, i.e. updating records, organizing travel arrangements, event-day logistics where the program is concerned, building the schedule in our event platform.

  • Managing a team of volunteers leading up to and during the event.

  • Setting up PR-related newsletters & blog posts.

  • Attend relevant events in the startup & tech ecosystem when time permits.
