Take the lead in shaping the future of our software organization, with the mandate and influence to drive transformation and deliver lasting impact.
Lead an 80+ people software organization across three sites and shape the next phase of Weibel’s software capability. You will drive scalability, predictable delivery, modern engineering practices, active use of AI, improved user experience, and a more professional development culture in a fast-growing high-tech company.
Our software organization is entering a new phase. Over the past five years, we have grown significantly, strengthened our ways of working, and increased our delivery capability. The next step is to scale further: using AI actively, improving predictability, strengthening requirements and test practices, increasing output, and building a software culture that is more structured, professional, and ready for the ambitions ahead.
At Weibel, we believe our products and solutions are among the very best in the market because of our cutting-edge technology and some of the most talented colleagues in the industry. We believe in trust, in people, and in continuously improving how we work together.
The primary tasks
- Define and drive the software strategy, translating company ambitions into a clear roadmap for capability, architecture, organization, and delivery performance.
- Build the software organization and platform capability needed to support Weibel’s planned growth – with clear ownership, scalable architecture, stronger planning, and the leadership capacity to handle increasing order intake and product complexity.
- Drive productivity and quality improvements through active use of AI, modern tooling, and new engineering practices.
- Improve delivery predictability by strengthening requirements management, test strategy, planning discipline, execution follow-up, and alignment across software, systems, and product teams.
- Strengthen our agile development flow, ensuring that agile practices support real delivery predictability, technical quality, ownership, and collaboration across teams.
As our new Director of Software, you will refer to VP R&D.

- A technical/engineering background (SW, Computer Science) and the ability to build strong collaboration across disciplines
- Experience from a similar role, with the responsibility for a larger Software team
- A leadership style that creates trust, alignment, followership, and clear momentum
- Strong communication skills - you can explain complex topics simply and keep everyone focused on the ‘why’ and the end goal
- The ability to see all the positive in new development methods and the use of AI, as means to aim even higher
- A real product mindset, starting with the customer and their needs and securing the usability and quality of our solutions
- A deep technical curiosity, wanting to understand how our radars work and how our developers are working to further improve them
It would be an advantage if you have
