Core Engine Control Systems

Do you believe in the importance of the green transition? Would you like to apply your skills to make a real difference? Are you eager to become a world-leading expert in developing sustainable engine control solutions for the world's largest 2-stroke engines? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you

At Everllence, we transform cutting-edge technology into solutions that play a vital role in decarbonizing the world. As the global market leader in energy-efficient and fuel-flexible large marine engine systems, we are committed to engineering systems for deep decarbonization in the sectors that matter most.

You will play an important role in:

Development and maintenance of our Engine Control System software for two-stroke main propulsion engines. Your primary tasks will be to develop the best possible automation and control system solutions enabling the full potential of the engine, including:

  • Developing and designing methods to control electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Implementing, programming, and testing new control system functionalities
  • Maintaining and improving existing control system features
  • Manage projects related to the Engine Control System development
  • Assist our service organization, customers and business partners for example in connection with commissioning and troubleshooting in service
  • Specifying control system interfaces to internal and external partners
  • System analysis and modelling of dynamical systems

We imagine that you:
  • Hold a degree in automation, mechanical or electrical engineering or similar, with a strong interest in automation and control of dynamic systems
  • Have experience with or interest in project management skills – this will be an advantage
  • Have experience with and interest in programming – C++ or another object-oriented language is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Have experience from a similar position or is an ambitious graduate willing to take on a challenge

Furthermore, you would fit well into the team and our way of working if you are independent and take initiative, with the ability and joy to follow a project from the start-up phase to the end, including delivery.

Welcome to Core Engine Control Systems

As an R&D Engineer you will join the "Core Engine Control Systems" department as part of the "Control Systems" function. The function holds around 40 highly motivated and skilled engineers, divided into 4 departments. You will become a part of a SCRUM team, whose main focus is to develop the control system application software for the two-stroke main engines of the future.

The control system monitors and controls engine speed, engine load up, cylinder combustion process and pressures, hydraulic power supply, cylinder lubrication, fuel injection, exhaust valve actuation, vibration reduction, and much more. System development of combustion control of future fuels such as methanol and ammonia is also a part of our responsibility.

Based on research and a good understanding of engine technologies and ship propulsion systems, we are designing control strategies for the engines in cooperation with other R&D departments. The solutions are implemented in the C++ programming language.

The software is installed on our embedded and distributed engine control system located close to the engine using our Everllence hardware platform. We test our software using a PC, our hardware-in-the-loop test facilities, our test engines in Copenhagen and production engines abroad.

What can you expect from us:

Join a team with good unity, where daily life is characterized by an informal atmosphere, a pleasant social work environment, and regular social activities. Close cooperation with passionate, skilled colleagues who are eager to share knowledge and learn from you.

You will work in a collaborative and innovative environment where your ideas matter and your work makes a real difference. You will have a great opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, and you will get access to all necessary training to grow your skills and knowledge for current and future demands.

Unleash your potential: Join us towards a carbon-neutral future
