About this opportunity

Welcome to Software Engineering and Enablement, a small and newly re-formed team of Software Engineers on the mission to add value to the organization by supplying software solutions to and enabling other teams in the Nordea Life Group. We operate across the Nordic countries and are primarily located in Copenhagen.

The team is on a journey of technology modernization, moving from database based functionality to micro services deployed on Nordea's internal cloud. The primary responsibility of the role as the Senior IT Developer will be to enable and drive this change in accordance and compliance with the Nordea Group IT strategy.

What you'll be doing:

  • As part of the team, take responsibility for maintenance, feature developments and documentation of our applications.
  • Help the team drive the update of the architecture of the Nordea Life Holding applications using modern technologies and integration patterns.
  • Act as sparring partner and help advise the team and our stakeholders on matters of technology choice and solution design.
  • Take an outgoing role and build networks with our stakeholders to enable the team to act as a discussion partner and expert in matters concerning development and technology.

The role is based in Copenhagen and in Nordea we are physically present in the office 3 days a week to ensure good cooperation and enable efficient collaboration. We expect that you feel comfortable working in a team where the majority of the interactions will be done in English and most of the meetings with stakeholders take place virtually.

Your experience and background:

  • Relevant academic degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years working as a software developer and 2 as a senior software developer.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience coding C#, .Net or Python.
  • Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and micro services.

Familiarity or experience with one or more of the following will be considered beneficial:

  • Experience in EF Core (Entity Framework).
  • Experience in configuring/understanding security issues like user authentication, etc.
  • Experience with CICD tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible), Splunk, Sysdig, Git, Bitbucket and JIRA.
  • Interest in following the latest trends within Technology, e.g. Cloud technologies.
  • Experience working in the banking or insurance industry or large organizations.
  • Experience and understanding of Microservices architecture.
  • Experience with unit testing and relevant unit testing frameworks.
  • Experience building web or console front end applications.
