Senior Backend Engineer

WHY ARE WE HIRING?

We are building a new product for the online catalogue space and need more talented people to achieve our lofty ambitions.

WHAT IS THE JOB?

You will be joining our current team of 13 engineers. We have a strong focus on teamwork, team progression, and making sure we build things properly. Our current product, Flipbooks, has around a billion visitors yearly. As such we need to make sure our system is running smoothly. This is a tradition we want to keep while working on our new product where you will be spending a lot of your time.

As a senior engineer, a normal sprint would include:

  1. Solving interesting issues with a focus on readability and maintainability.

* Blazingly fast is measured as faster than node.

APPLYING

As a member of the engineering department, you will report to our VP of Engineering. He will oversee your onboarding, regular 1:1's, and career development.

ONBOARDING

You will start out 5 days a week in our office as you are being onboarded, to ensure the most effective learning and bonding with your new team. Our work from anywhere policy enables you to work from home or from a hacienda in Spain (with reliable internet) when life requires it - but this is not a remote position. This is an on-site position (2 days a week), requiring you to live in commuting distance to our office (Aarhus, Denmark).

We don't like bureaucracy; we're friendly, inquisitive, and dedicated. With 40 employees across 14 nationalities, we're quite a diverse bunch and our corporate language is English.

Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to provide a blazingly fast and reliable experience to our customers and users around the globe. While you will be spending a lot of your time working on our new project codenamed "Horizon" you will also have tasks on our other projects.

To succeed in this role, you need:

  1. Internet savvy, web-aficionado, problem-solving, information-seeking, courteous.

It will be a plus if you have experience with:

  1. Teamwork and peer reviews.
  2. A strong understanding of web applications and their unique challenges.
  3. Experience with C#.
  4. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
