Job Description
The Impact You'll Make As our new Application Engineer, you will help customers turn technical requirements into practical solutions using frequency converters, drives and power conversion technologies. You will combine technical expertise with commercial understanding, supporting customers from the first technical discussion and pre-sales phase through solution design, quotation, project execution, testing and commissioning. An important part of your role will be to support marine and electrification applications, including battery energy storage systems, helping customers select, size and successfully implement the right solutions. Based in Silkeborg, you will join a small, experienced application team where everyone manages their own customers and projects while sharing knowledge and supporting each other. What You'll Be Doing Partner with our sales team and customers to understand technical requirements and design and size frequency converters, drives and power conversion solutions for customer applications. Act as trusted technical point of contact for key customers throughout the customer journey. This includes participating in customer meetings, project scoping and technical clarifications, and translating requirements into solutions and quotations. Manage the technical side of projects from pre-sales through implementation, verification testing and commissioning. Perform technical analyses such as harmonic distortion simulations, verification tests and evaluations against customer specifications, helping resolve technical challenges throughout the project. Share your expertise through technical presentations, product and software-tool training, and collaboration with sales colleagues, service partners and internal technical teams. The role involves regular customer interaction and travel, primarily within Denmark and potentially Norway and Sweden. You can expect up to approximately 50 travel days per year. What We're Looking For We are open to different levels of experience. You may already have relevant industry experience, or you may be a recent graduate ready to build your career in a customer-facing technical role. Furthermore, you have: A relevant technical background e.g. in Marine Engineering, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering, or a technical trade or service background with extensive electrical understanding. A solid interest in motor control, frequency converters, drives and power conversion, with the technical curiosity to develop your understanding of products, systems and customer applications. Confidence working directly with customers and different stakeholders, combined with a proactive and structured approach to managing projects and priorities. Fluency in Danish and English, as you will work directly with Danish customers as well as colleagues and stakeholders across borders. Willingness to travel and work directly with customers and partners on-site when needed. Experience with marine applications, electrification, drives, power conversion or related industries is an advantage but not essential. Familiarity with Danfoss Drives products or Salesforce is also beneficial. Most importantly, you bring initiative, curiosity and a willingness to learn. If you are newly graduated, we are interested in your potential and motivation, not just the length of your CV. What You'll Get from Us You'll have the opportunity to develop a combination of technical, commercial and project management skills while taking real ownership of customers and projects. Rather than focusing on only one stage, you can follow solutions from the initial customer requirement through design, implementation and commissioning. You'll learn from experienced colleagues while building hands-on knowledge of frequency converters, drives, power conversion and electrification technologies, including applications within the marine industry. The role offers a hybrid working model, with an expectation of being in our Silkeborg office two to three days per week. You'll help engineer a better future by contributing to solutions that make a real difference around the world. We'll support your career growth with mentoring, learning opportunities, and access to global career paths. You'll have the flexibility, autonomy, and support you need to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. You'll be part of an inclusive workplace where people of all backgrounds are respected, valued, and empowered to succeed. You'll receive a competitive rewards package that includes benefits such as an annual bonus, paid vac
