Jeppesen ForeFlight builds the navigation data and flight planning software that pilots, airlines and avionics manufacturers rely on every day, in a highly regulated industry. We are growing a product team in Gdansk that modernizes aviation software which has been in production for years, and we are hiring multiple engineers at mid and senior level. The role is remote, so you can work from anywhere in Poland, with visits to our Gdansk office.
You will join a small cross-functional team and work across the full delivery cycle: understanding the problem, designing the solution, building it, testing it, and keeping it stable in production. Much of the work happens in existing systems that other people built, so you will spend time reading code, tracing dependencies and handling migration risk before you change anything.
Coding agents are part of how the team works. We use them for exploring codebases, implementation, refactoring, debugging, testing and review. What we care about is how you use them: how you break a task down so an agent can execute it, what context and constraints you give it, and how you tell a good generated solution from one that only looks right. The code is still yours when it ships.
What you will do
Design, build, test, deploy and operate software for aviation products and modernization projects
Turn product requirements into technical designs, acceptance criteria and well-scoped units of work for yourself and for coding agents
Review AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability and fit with existing systems
Verify your changes with automated tests, static analysis, security tooling and observability
Integrate new capabilities with existing systems, workflows and aviation data formats
Take part in code review, production support and the continuous improvement of how the team works with agents
What we are looking for
Solid software engineering skills in Python
At least 3 years of commercial experience building and running production software
Hands-on experience using coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor to make real changes in real systems
Working knowledge of testing, CI/CD, observability, security and production operations
Experience with cloud environments and integrating with existing systems
Clear written and spoken Englishand Polish
Nice to have
Experience modernizing or integrating with legacy production systems
Experience using coding agents for large refactors or migrations
Repository instructions, automated verification or other work on agentic development workflows
Experience across more than one layer of a system, for example service and data layer
Experience from regulated, safety-critical or high-reliability environments
An interest in aviation, or experience as a pilot, dispatcher or developer of aviation software
What we offer
This is a permanent position on an employment contract (umowa o prace) directly with Jeppesen ForeFlight. You will work on software that is used in cockpits around the world, in a team that is still being built, which means you have real influence on how it works and how it uses coding agents going forward. The company Jeppesen ForeFlight makes the flight planning, navigation and charting software that pilots use in the cockpit. Airlines, business aviation operators and avionics manufacturers rely on our aeronautical data, and that data has to be correct every time it is published. Our Gdansk office is one of the company’s engineering sites in Europe. You would join the Data Delivery and Enablement organisation, working on the systems that assemble and deliver navigation data products to customers on a fixed publication cycle.
