Process Instrumentation Engineer

We are breaking new ground in the introduction of green alternative fuels for marine propulsion engines.

As our new Process Instrumentation Engineer, you will:

  • Work with specification and selection of process instrumentation fit for the application
  • Do detailed design related to application of instrumentation (PID and 3D design)
  • Maintain existing instrumentation (obsolescence and second sources)
  • Participate in development projects for new engine-related systems
  • Participate in discussions with suppliers and sourcing

We imagine that you:

  • Have a technical background with an interest in and insight into measuring principles. Both electronics and mechanical backgrounds could be of interest.
  • Understand electrical connections as well as mechanical interfaces for instrumentation, and care about getting the specification right.
  • Can have qualified discussions with system designers based on a P&I diagram.
  • Are ready to proactively approach suppliers in search for components.
  • Are comfortable with communicating in English, both in speech and writing.

In Electrical Design we are responsible for electrical documentation, control system configuration and instrumentation across the full two-stroke engine portfolio. We are 9 colleagues with various technical backgrounds. Within the department, the instrumentation is handled in a smaller team of 3-4 colleagues.

Our main tools are Siemens NX for 3D modelling, PC|Schematic for electrical documentation and PID, ARAS Innovator and Siemens Teamcenter for PLM, and Microsoft products.

In our everyday work, we interact with both mechanical designers, electronics hardware designers, software developers, service engineers and sourcing/logistics, as well as external customers and suppliers.

We are placed in a large office with 3 sister departments, totaling about 35 colleagues with various backgrounds and nationalities.
