Your new role

As our new Senior or Lead Engineer Secondary Steel, you will deliver secondary steel design work packages for Concept Design, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), and Detailed Designs for large offshore wind foundation structures. You will take on responsibility for your own design deliverables applying an analytical approach and structural understanding to create innovative solutions – with the aim of further shaping and enhancing our service delivery.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage works by secondary steel engineers and CAD technicians to deliver high-quality design and documentation of secondary structural components, reflecting both fabrication-friendliness and the latest state-of-the-art, while ensuring successful third-party certification and efficient follow-up during the fabrication and installation phases.
  • Coordinate design works with the Project/Design Manager and other discipline Lead Engineers.
  • Perform analyses and Quality Assurance of structural designs, followed by skilled examination of results and identification of the main design drivers.
  • Present design methods and results at client- and certifying agent meetings during both the design and certification process.
  • Ensure designs are optimized to fulfil the latest health and safety requirements accounting for the full life cycle of the structure from fabrication through operation to decommissioning.

Your new team

You will be part of our global Offshore Wind Engineering team working on wind farm developments worldwide. Based in the Ramboll Head Office in Copenhagen, Denmark, you will join an established and vibrant team of highly talented and engaged engineers at the forefront of innovative and complex design techniques in steel and composite materials. You will collaborate with local and international colleagues and play a critical role in defining and delivering projects, creating innovative solutions, and shaping and enhancing our service delivery.

About you

  • Master's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Wind Engineering, preferably with a focus on design of offshore steel structures or similar areas of study.
  • Track record applying understanding of structural engineering principles, Offshore Wind design standard (DNV, EN, DIN, OSHA, IEC, API) requirements and the fabrication/construction process to produce efficient designs and very good knowledge and understanding of 3D CAD and structural models.
  • Experience with planning engineering tasks (calculations, quality assurance and reporting) and effectively planning and prioritizing multiple engineering tasks, while making independent decisions.
  • High integrity and team spirit, proactively engaging with others and offering support when required.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English when interfacing with various disciplines and stakeholders, both in person and virtually.
