IFU is Denmark's Development Finance Institution and a leading emerging market impact investor. We think innovatively about ways to deploy our capital, attract and mobilise other investors, and drive sustainable impact in emerging markets by making commercial private sector investments that support the green transition, as well as building just and inclusive societies in developing countries and emerging markets.

At the end of 2023, IFU initiated a growth and transformation journey when the Danish government announced a capitalisation plan that will more than double IFU's investment activity by 2030. We are therefore hiring a strategy manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping IFU's strategic direction and growth journey.

The Job

As strategy manager, you will be part of the Strategy & Business Development team, which is responsible for strategy work and implementing projects initiated by the management. We work with senior leadership to develop IFU and enable the organisation to grow and further strengthen our position as a leading impact investor in emerging markets. Reporting to the head of Strategy and Business Development, you will contribute to the department's tasks both in collaboration with coworkers and by running projects yourself.

The main responsibilities of the department include:

1. Define and drive priority initiatives in strategy implementation together with the business units, including setting appropriate KPIs and processes to track and review implementation.
2. Assist in building a new brand for IFU, which is more targeted towards the commercial market. This includes marketing, communication, and investor relations.
3. Support the development of business unit strategies, including IFU's investment strategy in close collaboration with the Investment management team.
4. Develop strategies, tools, and processes that will enable IFU to deliver on its investment targets.
5. Lead annual corporate business planning.
6. Develop updates to capital plans and investment mandates with IFU's owner, the Danish Government.
7. Produce insights, recommendations, and fact-based decision material based on research and analysis for IFU leadership and business units.

Your Qualifications & Experience

You have strong experience within strategy development and project work, preferably from at least 2 years in a management consultancy. Experience with emerging markets, development finance, and private equity will be considered a plus, but is not a requirement. In addition, you have:

• Master degree within economy, business, political or social science, financing, or something similar.
• Strong quantitative analysis skills and ability to formulate and deliver recommendations with crisp communications.
• Structured problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to propose compelling solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in strategic business management, with a focus on facilitating executive-level decisions.
• High level of business and financial acumen.
• Expertise with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
