Senior Transaction Manager – Project Finance
Are you looking for the next step in your career? Do you have the expertise to drive the financing of renewable energy projects that shape the future of global sustainability? European Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Transaction Manager to lead the financial transactions for our innovative renewable energy projects globally.
European Energy is a green energy company with exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar (PV) and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X and BESS. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.
Your new team
You will be part of our M&A and Project Financing team in our Headquarter in Søborg, Copenhagen. We are responsible for our project financing and divestment of renewable energy projects globally. We lead all project and portfolio divestments and partnerships managing the transaction from origination all the way to execution. The department is part of the newly established CCO organization with a holistic and strategic focus on European Energy’s sales activities.
How you will create an impact
As our new Senior Transaction Manager, Project Finance, you will take ownership of complex financial transactions, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to secure optimal financing arrangements.
This is a strategic, hands-on role that requires exceptional leadership, negotiation, teamwork, and relationship management skills. As part of our Project Finance team, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the future of energy.
Key Responsibilities
- You will lead all aspects of structuring, negotiating, and closing non-recourse, project finance deals, including term sheet development, due diligence, and final documentation.
- You will manage relationships with banks, institutional investors, and other financing partners, ensuring alignment with European Energy's financial strategy.
- You will develop and implement tailored financing structures for renewable energy and power-to-x projects, optimizing cost, risk, and capital efficiency.
- You will work closely with internal teams such as legal, technical, and project development teams to ensure that projects and project documents are structured with "bankable" risk allocation, enabling smooth financing processes.
- You will manage the entire transaction process, including drafting scopes of work for advisors and managing advisor engagements to maintain high-quality outcomes.
- You will lead the commercial review and negotiation of all transaction documentation and oversee transaction closings.
- You will guide and quality-assure the work of Associates and Analysts working on these transactions.
To thrive in this role we imagine you have the following competencies
- You have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in project finance within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
- You have a proven track record in structuring and closing non-recourse financial transactions, with exposure to both debt and equity financing.
- You possess strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with relevant financial partners and institutions.
- You have an advanced understanding of financial modeling, credit analysis, and risk assessment.
- You have experience with and a strong understanding of renewable power markets and market dynamics.
As a person, you are proactive and have a results-driven mindset which you utilize in your problem-solving. You are collaborative and have excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to diverse audiences. You have eyes and ears for details, and you find yourself very comfortable negotiating and you have a genuine interest in the financial market and the green energy transition.
You are willing to travel quarterly to meet with stakeholders across Europe.
- We offer an opportunity to lead large M&A transactions globally in the renewable energy and power-to-x sectors.
- You will take part in decision-making and have close direct contact with senior management.
- We prioritize our employees’ development. You will be enrolled in our People Development Program to ensure continuous learning and engagement.
- We offer the opportunity to work remotely and have flexible working hours.
- You will have ample opportunity to engage socially across the departments. We have a monthly Friday event, a free gym in the basement, a squash court, as well as sports events such as running club, football club, and mountain bike.
