Customer Trainer

Primary Function of Position:
This training professional will deliver da Vinci and Ion technology training, as well as facilitate surgeon and physician-led training for surgeons, physicians, first assistants, and OR staff from various surgical specialties, including urology, gynecology, general, thoracic trans-oral surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery. In addition, the Customer Trainer Specialist will be actively involved in the continuous improvement of training programs and provide support for customer training, engineering, and training research initiatives. The Customer Trainer will report directly to the Training Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct da Vinci and Ion training programs for surgeons, physicians, and their care teams at designated training centers and remote centers.
- Lead and support specialized training programs and Society events, including supporting the needs of the surgeon educators and course participants.
- Conduct surveys to gather data and measure program effectiveness.
- Act as subject matter expert for internal projects, as needed, including new product development.
- Develop training materials and protocols.
- Engage in training research initiatives.
- Work with the Training team in a creative, dependable, and flexible manner to improve existing training programs.
- Occasionally support the da Vinci System in a hospital operating room.
- Support da Vinci troubleshooting and maintenance at the training center.
- Manage training center logistics, inventory, training calendars, and maintain accurate training records for course participants.
- Maintain all capital equipment, including cleaning and sterilization of instruments and accessories.
- Support positive relationships between external training center personnel and ISI management.
- Contribute to the organization’s quarterly goal achievements.
- Develop competency in the following:
- da Vinci technology
- da Vinci applications and advanced technology
- Ion technology
- OR efficiency
- Training pathway process
- Training/coaching techniques/methodologies
- Act as a Medical Device Consultant (Medizinprodukteberater) in Austria and Germany, after appropriate training, as per legal requirement, and provide guidance, insight, and support in the proper handling of Intuitive medical devices.
- Maintain competency and currency on technology training protocol following the onboarding program guidelines and annual competency requirements.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Travel required.
