Principal Scientist specializing in cannabinoids

About the role

Do you want to help us revolutionize an industry and build your experience with technologies intended to improve the bioavailability of BSC class II & IV drugs?

As a Principal Scientist specializing in cannabinoids, you will play an important role in our organization and be part of a global team within our cannabinoid category. This position will be involved in conceiving and developing innovative products, upscale/technical transfer into production from start to commercial launch. We are seeking a visionary and forward-thinking person who can use their expertise to drive product development in Canada, tap into external networks, translate ideas into tangible products, and actively identify and secure patents for new ideas and concepts.

Job description:

  1. You will execute our strategy within technological & pharmaceutical development, with hands-on laboratory work evaluating and characterizing the performance of prioritized delivery technologies.
  2. You will leverage your experience from R&D and process to select suitable formulation technology approaches based on physicochemical properties of the API, improving delivery.
  3. You will gather knowledge by reading scientific articles, patents, studies, and seeking inspiration from other areas of application to translate into technological development.
  4. Your chemical background allows you to rationally design and structure formulation development in an explorative manner.
  5. Your knowledge and insights, combined with your understanding of cannabinoids, will ensure that the latest ideas and technology are incorporated into products to improve uptake.
  6. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a network of knowledgeable people within the drug delivery area.

Your background:
  1. You have a minimum of five years of experience in pharmaceutical development and delivery of BSC class II and IV.
  2. You have experience designing formulations to improve delivery from oral solid dosage forms (e.g., tablets, solid dosage form, granulation, encapsulation techniques) and experience with formulation stability schedule.
  3. You are confident in designing in vivo pre-clinical studies and translating data to inform technology/product development.
  4. You hold a proven record of accomplishment supporting your experience with formulation work in drug delivery.
  5. You appreciate the investigation and characterization of new active agents and strategies for their successful application in various fields of interest.
  6. You are a pharmacist or chemist, hold a master’s degree in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a similar academic background, and you hold a Ph.D.
  7. You have experience in reading scientific articles, patents, studies, etc., extracting the essence and disseminating insights to an interdisciplinary group.
  8. You have experience establishing and maintaining professional networks.
  9. You have experience with project management of academic projects.
  10. You have a minimum of 3-5 years of mentoring experience.

  4. Your empathy makes it easy to gather people, quickly build a network, and work interdisciplinary.
  5. You are comfortable in a professional and dynamic environment and have a strong will to succeed.
  6. You can communicate detailed scientific information clearly to an interdisciplinary team in writing and verbally in Danish/English.
