Billund, Denmark LEGO Koncernen Full time

Job Description
Do you have the vision and skills combining sensors, software and data analytics to take the digital transformation of our injection moulding processes to the next level?

Bring your talent within data analytics, programming and engineering into play and help us to scope, implement and demonstrate scalable solutions that shape the development of the LEGO Group's injection moulding process by systematic utilisation of data, statistics, modelling and software.

No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Core Responsibilities
In this temporary position, you will primarily support the demonstrators within the digital moulding process program aiming to scope and build the future digitalized and automated injection moulding solutions. In this way, you will understand and work with the link between data analysis, process variables and material properties. More specifically, you will:

  • Develop scalable demonstrators that bridge the gap between innovative IoT concepts and full-scale, tangible solutions in injection moulding, ensuring a seamless transition from idea to deployment.
  • Maintain and enhance the data infrastructure at Moulding Analytics Center (MAC), ensuring a lab-driven approach that provides full control and oversight over IoT data management and analysis.
  • Oversee the selection, installation, and calibration of advanced sensors on injection moulding machines to accurately capture key operational parameters.
  • Lead the development and integration of software solutions for IoT-driven innovations in injection moulding, ensuring robust implementation using various industrial communication protocols and networks.
  • Develop and implement data analytics solutions that integrate diverse data sources, including production, quality control, and planning, to optimize injection moulding processes and drive continuous improvement through comprehensive IoT-driven insights.
  • Set clear plans and direction for the moulding technicians in charge of performing the tests.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork both within your own department and across other departments to achieve shared goals and ensure the successful integration of the solutions.
  • Communicate and share findings to enable the department's data-driven journey. Report technical findings to the project group, MAC Leadership team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Drive the communication between internal suppliers and customers, while ensuring coherence on the technical insights.

Play your part in our team succeeding
MAC is responsible for setting mould parameters and standards for existing and future materials and moulding process solutions. MAC is a competence center for one of the LEGO Group's core capabilities – injection moulding and is responsible for extracting and analyzing data and providing a solid ground for decision-making for engineering solutions across functions. The department enables the Sustainable Materials 2032 ambition for the LEGO Group.

You will be a part of the moulding data team – consisting of four highly-skilled colleagues - where your primary focus will be data analytics in combination with your knowledge within engineering to support the business needs and ambition to become data-driven in everything we do.

Do you have what it takes?
We welcome both newly graduated with minimum a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or equivalent as well as experienced applicants with 1+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining scalable software solutions for (in best case) data ingestion and data transformation. Most importantly, you have solid knowledge and/or flair for software engineering in combination with physical equipment. In addition, you bring:

  • Knowledge within Data Analysis, Statistics and Data Pipelines using Data Bricks.
  • Curiosity and desire to learn about plastic rheology and injection moulding.
  • Proven software programming skills in C#/Python.
  • Understanding and experience with industrial communications specially OPC-UA.
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodology and DoE would be an advantage.
  • A self-motivated team player with superb communication, facilitation and project management skills being able to build strong relationships across the organisation.
  • Strong personal drive making you known for being problem solving, service-minded and getting things done.
  • Fluent English and solid Danish language abilities.
