The Role

Join our team that builds, operates, and maintains the company’s analytical data platform used for trading. We ensure reliability, performance, and scalability while hiding the complexity from our trading desks so they can focus on trade execution. As NET currently increases its focus on data-driven decision-making, we are expanding our team to support this strategic initiative. This role is open due to our commitment to investing in and enhancing our data infrastructure to stay ahead in the competitive energy trading industry.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, implement, and maintain applications for collecting, processing, and storing large volumes of energy-related data.
  2. Develop and maintain central databases used throughout the organization.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
  4. Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions to streamline data processes.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly.
  6. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to ensure our data architecture scales with the business.

Desirable Qualifications

These are among the things we work with – experience is valuable, but willingness to learn is more important:

  1. Professional experience building software as a data or software engineer.
  2. Experience in C# or Python.
  3. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Timescale, or other database management systems.
  4. Experience working within the energy sector or trading.
  5. Experience with data pipeline tools, streaming, or batch processing.
  6. Introductory understanding of data science disciplines such as ML and statistics.

Our Hiring Process

  1. Quick interview : Initial check for fit for both parties and time for questions.
  2. Take home : A short coding task in your choice of language + DiSC profile assessment. DiSC is not a gate, but only meant as a conversation tool.
  3. Follow up interview : Review of take home + DiSC. Chance for further questions.
  4. Offer : If we’re both still interested in working together, we extend an offer promptly.
