The Industry Department at Bureau Veritas is accredited to certify customers’ products and services against multiple legislative requirements and standards. This ensures uniformity and quality in the customers’ production and products. You will become part of the Danish Industry team, where you will lead and work closely together with dedicated and professional colleagues.

The role of the Operational Manager

As the Operational Manager for the Industry department in Denmark, you will oversee the daily operations of the industry activities within your scope. Reporting to the Industry Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to maintain a comprehensive understanding and management of operations and the Industry Management system, while providing effective management through the local team, ensuring first-class and efficient support and contact with our customers. To fully understand the challenges and requirements set by the industry, the Operational Manager will also be expected to work in the field, covering approximately 20% of their working capacity.

Your leadership skills and proactive approach will work toward securing a streamlined and customer-oriented operation across Denmark. With this in mind, our employees are the center of our business, hence it will be your responsibility, in collaboration with the Technical Manager, to ensure proper training and competencies for our employees, to be able to deliver excellent service to our customers.

Summing up your daily tasks:

  • Daily management of operations – either directly or through team leaders
  • Monitor and optimize existing registrations in cooperation with the Industry Manager
  • Collect and analyze with the Industry Team all relevant data on the legal registration processes and provide the affected departments with the relevant information.
  • Manage with the Industry Team all activities in terms of documentation, complaints and information to internal departments and customers
  • Ensure internal and external communication and cooperation at all levels of responsibility to guarantee support and advice.

What will make you successful at Bureau Veritas?

Your ideal background would be within the industry sector, e.g. from inspection experience and relevant educational background, giving you knowledge within inspection techniques and hence the ability to select the most appropriate inspector for our and our customers’ different needs, as well as working with and reviewing inspection processes.

As quality is one of the business’ keywords and we are conscious about it in everything we do, it is key that you have a good sense of quality requirements, which allows for a sense of detail and morale to deliver high-quality work. Besides this, you have experience with and knowledge about quality management systems, that will aid in your organizational awareness and structuredness.

It is essential that you are self-driven in your work, have technical curiosity and reflective abilities that can be conceptualized, and can provide clear and efficient communication in English and Danish, as you are expected to have direct contact with stakeholders at different levels as well as team responsibilities.
