Senior Global Project Manager - Nature & Biodiversity Data - Maternity Cover

If so, we invite you to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving sustainable nature and biodiversity practices at Novo Nordisk.

The Position

As the Nature and Biodiversity Data Lead, you will be responsible for the Nature and Biodiversity data track at Novo Nordisk that provides a foundation for the Novo Nordisk's Nature strategy. The work includes developing tools, data, and metrics for measuring, improving, and reporting on Novo Nordisk's nature and biodiversity impact through the use of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Geographic Information Systems, and other data tools. The position is a maternity cover from March/April to February 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct nature impact assessments (land, water, pollution, biodiversity) to determine priority sourcing categories and potential effects of sourcing activities on ecosystems and biodiversity.
  2. Revise and improve Novo Nordisk's nature and biodiversity assessment methodology with close linkage to SBTN and Novo Nordisk's existing environmental quantification methods in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  3. Identify relevant data sources within and outside the organization to ensure the most accurate data input to our nature assessment, including developing our use of spatial datasets to assess the state of nature in our value chain.
  4. Ensure alignment of data and nature methodology across the organization, adjusting the Nature team's approach and working across the organization to implement necessary data improvements.
  5. Establish monitoring mechanisms to track the progress and effectiveness of the nature and biodiversity strategy targets.
  6. Develop figures, graphics, and presentations to communicate our work to stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in engineering, biology, data science, or another relevant field with excellent results.
  2. 3+ years' experience in Geospatial Data and/or Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), preferably within a corporate context.
  3. Advanced user of Excel. Experience with LCA for experts (Sphera) and/or SimaPro is an advantage. Experience with QGIS or similar is an advantage.
  4. Statistical expertise and experience programming in a language like Python or R are an advantage.
  5. Knowledge of emerging nature and biodiversity frameworks and disclosure requirements including SBTN, CSRD, and TNFD.
  6. Experience working with spatial data, and an understanding of the strengths and limitations of different 'state of nature' datasets is highly desirable.

As a person, you possess excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across strategy, reporting, and product supply, bringing clarity to complex challenges and finding pragmatic solutions.

The department consists of 20 dedicated project managers and specialists, all highly engaged in driving the environmental strategy of Novo Nordisk.
